Wahlburgers

"As visitors from another state, we were a little surprised to see a grocery store with a little eatery and full bar inside. We decided to give Wahlburgers a try and we really enjoyed it. The man who took our order was really informative and helpful for us first timers. We ordered the “ours burger,” the BBQ burger, fried pickles, and sweet tots. We liked everything. The burgers were tasty and weren’t greasy at all. The sweet tots were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were just missing some melba sauce for dipping, but they did pair nicely with the ranch we got with the fried pickles. The breading was nicely seasoned, crispy, and not too thick, wrapped around sour, crunchy pickle chips."

"Wanted to try Wahlbergers so made the trip over. Very small being inside Hy-vee and it's extremely over priced!! If you like to pay $12- $14 for a burger that (we both said) taste like Wendy's then hey this is the place for you! One pic is the grilled chicken sandwich for $12 other is their version of onion rings ( more like onion bits) also over priced! Luckily we happened to be there during happy hour and appetizers were $5. We tried the chicken egg rolls they were tasty but you get 3 cut in half. The bar is small as well. Definitely a one and done."

"We went for the first time today. It was very delicious! Good flavor on the fiesta burger! And the kids burgers were great! The chicken tenders my daughter got were very good! Didn’t get a picture but she loved them! There was so much food I couldn’t eat it all."

"First time dining here, first off if you didn’t know you had to pre-order at the opposite counter it can get confusing. We stood at the entrance for some time until the only bar staff finally looked up and told us to pre-order, seemed like over 5 minutes and we were about to walk away (on crutches at the moment. Advice: place a sticker or something explaining this walk through method as we were told the only time there is a door person is evenings. We ordered our food, both got the ‘Juicy Lucy’ mine with tater tots and his with onion straws. We walked in found a seat, had to move table as it claimed it was sanitized and clean, no it wasn’t, ketchup and crumbs all over. The floors were in need of a sweep and straw papers over and mud. Finally the food came, the overall appearance was nice, it was a good burger but lacked flavor, I’m a Brit and use Wostershire sauce a lot and I could not even taste this, it lacked…I said to husband a few more spices or pepper would make this pop and was missing. It needed more, hardly any Mayo and needed a slice of tomato and pickle to complete it. My husbands onion straws were cold and limp! mine were Luke warm but tasty. Kinda disappointed as it’s not a cheap burger, it needs more or reduce prices. I still think ‘Culver’s’ does the better burger. We tried and maybe we may try again if they get it together more. Missing a wonderful opportunity here."
