Northtown Plaza

"Lunardi's restaurant is superb but the canolis are fake. I worked at an Italian restaurant in Ithaca, New York for a chef from the island of Elba and he had real canolis so I know the difference. The vegetables that came with my salmon were not as good as Monica's vegetables in Iowa City but the salmon in both restaurants was good."

"Situated east of Northpark Mall and west of Brady Street in Davenport, Northtown Plaza is in a bit of an awkward location. It's been there pretty much the entire time I've lived in the Quad Cities and I remember years ago going to a bookstore that has since relocated or closed. The only other place I've visited in the shopping center in is Lundardi's Restaurant, which is one of the best local places in the Quad Cities for Italian food. I think awkward really is the best way to describe this location. There's lots of shopping available in Northpark Mall directly west, and plenty of places to shop along Brady street directly east. To get to Northtown Plaza, one must exit off of either Kimberly Road to the south and drive through private roads north or off welcome way, then drive on private roads south and west. When you arrive at the shopping center, there isn't a ton of parking to use directly outside the store fronts. As a result, you may have to park further afield in spaces that appear to be primarily for Northpark Mall visitors. I can't give off points for any of this, however, as Lunardi's Restaurant is located within and it is fantastic. They have some of my favorite bruschetta I've had anywhere! Their tiramisu is similarly fantastic. If you like good Italian food, you owe it to yourself to visit Lunardi's. Anyhow, in my humble opinion, Northtown Plaza is as good a place to shop as any in the Quad Cities. I recommend Lunardi's heavily, but you could also get your nails done and get a haircut in the nail place and Great Clips, as well. If you live close by, consider a visit."

"Great little business area but be very careful, the parking lot is not the best design, almost got hit a couple times. I go to the UPS Store on occasion. Road traffic needs to slow the heck down too. It's a mall not the interstate around the mall!"

"Lady was rude and acted like she wasn't interested in my business. She actually suggested I ship my items elsewhere next time. Odds are I will strongly consider her offer. I'm certain the items will get where they're going which is why this is a two-star review instead of one star."
