Roper's Rock

"First and foremost, the Roper's Rock pin on Google Maps is not the correct spot for Roper's Rock; it is the location of the Lookout Mountain Point and Museum. Roper's Rock is truly located about 175 feet southwest of this location and is easily accessible by walking paths from this location. This northern rock outcropping is the "Point" at Umbrella Rock which fronts the museum on Lookout Mountain (I submitted the correction to Google). There is no longer access to the Point rock outcropping or Umbrella Rock, but is visible from this area. This park, lookout point, Roper's Rock and the various memorials are a fantastic spot for great views and taking in some US history. There are hiking paths from Cravens House up to this area where you may be able to avoid entry fees. It is probably an intermediate hike with about an hour travel time each way."

"A must place to visit. Be ready to walk a lot. Some places are tight if you have a belly (like me) would be hard to pass by."

"Waze and Gmaps take you to the Cravens house parking lot. No signs to get to Ropers Rock. Drove all the way up here for nothing. Never found Ropers Rock. Hopefully someone will explain how to get there in the next review."

"Have lived in East tn for all our lives and neither of us have been to Ruby Falls. Didn't know this area was called Roper's road or something like that. We had a blast. Best view of Chatt town."
