"Cool little stop!"
"Beautiful little spot for this super cool ship model!"
"A pretty cool big metal model of a "Liberty Ship" dominates this small park, which commemorates Brunswick, Georgia's, role in producing Liberty Ships during World War II about a mile south of this memorial. Between 1942 & 1944, J.A. Jones Construction Co. hired about 16,000 folks to fabricate 99 of these boats to keep supply lines, which were rapidly being torpedoed by German Nazi U-Boats, open. They managed to kick out 4 each of these 447 ft long, 3500 lb. ships, and in 1944, when the Navy upped its demand to 6 ships, they managed to put out 7. It's a really neat model to eyeball & get a few pictures with, and lets hope the City keeps it up."
