"They had a Scavenger hunt on Saturday and our team won lol . It's a great place to stay and visit. The Burnham house sleeps 8 and brings back history from the late 1800s .grandma cooked biscuits and gravy and had a cup of coffee on the back porch. Nice !"
"This is a quiet and beautiful park that provides both history and natural beauty. In particular, I liked the nature trail that gave me the chance to enjoy the quiet majesty of the Seventeen-Mile River swamp although I was surprised that I didn't see any turtles, snakes or fish in the shallow water. (I own some swamp land in SC with a much narrower creek and I always see swamp critters in abundance.) Places like this make the ParkPass a real bargain."
"This well maintained park was so picturesque and serene. We camped there in our RV and were very impressed with the large pull-through campsites. Each site came with water, electricity, pick nick table, grill, and a fire pit. There are several trails to hike, some of which take you down by the river among the Cypress trees. My husband enjoyed catch and release fishing in the lake and I enjoyed sitting next to lake reading, while listening to the horse, sheep, goats, and most loudly the Rooster and Turkey. The old homestead cabins and farm were quite charming and held memories of a simpler life. All in all a very nice park! We would definitely return!"
"Nice campground a bit over 100 miles from Jacksonville. Large RC sites, most all are pull through. Typical state park bathrooms and showers but kept reasonably clean. Nice walking and biking trails. Small camp store. Historic farm building set up complete with farm animals. Small lake with rental paddle boats and kayaks available. No sewer hookup at sites but a convenient two sided dump station near campground entrances. Town of Douglas, Georgia only 5 miles away has anything you might need, including a good country cooking restaurant, covered Wagon. We’ll be back!"
