"Great picnic area and walking trail right by the river."
"Awesome experience. Now make sure you aren't on the tracks when train comes but awesome walk with sight of train and river. Trails are clear of debris so well maintained."
"On Saturday, my daughter and I decided to walk the trails, and were shocked to see the condition they are now in. There were large trees fallen across the trail which were more than a bit challenging to clamber over. Just past the trestle the trails were so overgrown with poison ivy and other underbrush that it was quite hard to sort out where the trail was! But, by far the worst part of our walk were the bridges. The first one we came to had a number of boards so rotten there were large holes in the planks. The second bridge had fallen into a ditch, and the only way to cross it was a 2X10 plank that was barely long enough to reach from our side of the ditch and the the remains of the fallen bridge! We decided not to cross it! The trails are no longer safe for walkers, and would be dangerously unsafe for mountain bikes. I hope the city will sort out the above mentioned problems. The trails are usually a really nice place to walk during the cooler Autumn months. As they are now, they’re a liability, both for the city, and for any unsuspecting walker or cyclist."
"I am giving this place 5 stars because it has a large, easily accessible parking lot, a VERY nice picnic/event shelter, well-groomed trails (a large portion paved), and LOTS of wonderful benches to sit along the main trail. It is obvious some people have worked VERY hard to make this a very nice, quiet place to relax and enjoy nature. The trail is mostly shaded forest, so don't be afraid to come when the weather is warmer. I was here today and saw plenty of wildlife in this area just north of town. My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have trail maps on-site and or more information online about this park and it's trails. Upon arriving here today we got out and couldn't find any info about where the trail went or how long it was and that was a little unnerving. Even a quick Google search did not produce results right away. This park is not on Google Maps, but I assure you, it does exist and is a very nice place to enjoy some peace and quiet."
