"I signed a contract with Atlantis Painting on August 17, 2012 to stain the exterior my house in Portsmouth. It is a 1400 square foot house and could have easily been done in a week. It is now October, 28, 2012 and the job is still not done and what is done, is done so poorly that I had to get another bid from another painter. I paid for the job and they kept asking for more money. The stain was thinned and he said he would do two coats and did not. I feel like I have been "scammed" because the two owners of the company, John Horton and Anthony Nunes are not responding to voice messages, fax's, emails or my complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I highly recommend you use a different company--this one has been a nightmare."
"Had my Victorian home scraped, sanded, primed and painted. In addition, Atlantis was also contracted to clean and supposedly protect my wooden gutters with a protective liner. After three seasons only, using high quality Sherwin-Williams Duration paint, the paint has been peeling. Furthermore, all my wooden gutters that were supposedly lined, failed miserably (rubberized/tar coating clumped up into a tarry mess throughout), resulting in fairly extensive water damage to my home. Paid almost $14,000 to Atlantis for truly appalling results. Made repeated request to Atlantis to return and repair the mess, and even compensating them in part, but they have not returned even after multiple promises. Had to hire another contractor to repair this huge mess for close to $20,000."
"Approximately five years ago, I hired this company due to a high rating. The project manager quoted that the house would get two coats of paint sprayed on with the windows covered. This never happened. He never covered the windows of which I had to scrape. He only did one coat. He also stated all open areas would be sealed. Again, never done. At one point, he and the crew didn't show for three days. His excuse was unacceptable. Needless to say, my house is peeling in sheets. The money I gave this company was totally wasted."
"I have know Anthony for a couple of years, I know for a fact that he puts 100% into all of his work, He makes sure it is perfect before he leaves for the last time, and will stay very late at night just to get done what he planed on getting done to keep on schedule. He is going to be painting some of my rooms, I look forward to it because Ii know it will be perfect when he is done."
"My Name is ****** **** and I am a Superintendent with a big name management company. Although our company is based out of Boston we manage buildings all over. Mine happens to be in *********** I had originally come on here to post a short very satisfied review for Atlantis but after reading the rantings of an unsatisfied customer I figured I would give a more in depth description of my experiences. A few months after taking over role of Super at my property I had become dissatisfied with the current painters doing our turnovers. After trying out three or four different painters I came across Atlantis. I found them on one of those websites that the contractor pays for leads. After my initial visit with ******* I knew right away that I was going to like them. Prices were put together and approved and they were hired on a trial basis, that was three years ago. Since then they have been doing all of our turnovers, they repainted our entire boiler room, they painted our new fitness center, all of or concrete retaining walls, but most recently they completed the painting of all of our newly installed sprinkler piping. This was a process in which everything had to be coordinated down to the most finite detail due to the fact that we had to enter 180 different residences. Not one resident or administrative complaint. In fact the work they have done here has put them in the lead for other projects through out my company as a whole. As you can probably tell by reading his complaint response, ******* is old school and has no idea how to communicate through typing. He would rather have face to face encounters or meetings so that by the time you both leave any issues or concerns have been ironed out. Which is what drove my write this review. After reading his response to the ranting lady I did feel I needed to stick up for him in a way. It is not that I do not believe what transpired actually happened, but I DO believe it had more to do with her than she lets on. The folks at Atlantis are not perfect, nobody is, but the communication has always been there and any time there is an issue it is fixed immediately. I sincerely hope this helps anyone looking to hire an A+ painting CO and they do not get dissuaded by the ramblings of one dissatisfied unrealistic woman. By the way in three years NEVER have I found a product thinned out or have i been misled on the amounts of coats applied."
