"Avoid! I would give this place zero stars if possible. I went in with 2 sweaters and 1 coat and asked how much it would cost to have them dry cleaned. She said “I don’t know”. I asked her to check and she said “no. You will know how much it costs when you pick up.” Why would you ever leave your clothes with someone who won’t even tell you how much it will cost? I guess they don’t need the business but seems ridiculous to refuse to disclose prices for your services."
"The owner has always gone out of her way to help me. When I have tailoring done she tactfully tells me if my ask is too long or two short. I needed a button resewn and didn’t have the right color instead of charging me she said I can take however much thread I need. When I brought in some drapes that had been damaged by the sun they didn’t charge anything when the fabric began to fail during washing. They are a good local business in town. Tailoring is excellent."
"I brought in 8 shirts, three pocket squares and a tie. Granted there was serious collar and cuff ring, but I only asked they try their best. Not only did she turn me away, but pretended to consult the other employee. Because she never took a single garment with her and "he" never came out, I have doubts to their conversation. I have had a good interaction twice before and this is why I wait to review places. They couldn't hold consistent or reasonable attitude and service. I had made it clear I did not expect miracles, but she claimed her clientele has frequently been disappointed when she can't get a stain out. This was her reason for not taking my shirts whatsoever. Granted, communication is not their strong point, but not taking the tie or pocket squares either baffled me. I even offered to just use wash service rather than dry clean; literally would not take my money. I will be using the shop on Broadway in Somerville or Ken's in Chelsea. She told me to go to Main St. No prices for pocket squares; their ignorance was excusable until the rude snub on the basis of being held liable by their usual uppity clientel."
"Two stars because everything with them was perfectly good, until it wasn't. Customer service isn't a real thing here. I was a happy customer of theirs for about a year, and the owners were always very friendly and polite. I was very surprised by a conversation ended with her saying "if you don't like it, look somewhere else". All this over 40 cents. Skimming through a other reviews, it seems this is typical when issues come up with cleaning. When picking up a load of dry cleaning, there was a new stain on one piece, and the owner agreed to re-clean it. When I went back to pick it up, I only had a credit card. The price was $4 but they have a $10 card minimum. I understand why businesses have minimums, and in this case the low charge was because one piece needed to be redone individually due to the stain that mysteriously appeared during cleaning. The owner outright refused to run the $4 charge. I even suggested adding $.50 to the bill to cover their additional processor fees, but she became abruptly very rude. She started repeating that for 28 years this was how they did business, and began to deny that they had caused the stain, even though we had just talked about it and the garment even had a stain tag on it. Beyond the fact that most businesses would have waived the $4 cleaning charge at best or apologized for the inconvenience at minimum, this business was bizarrely rude. No voices were raised or anything dramatic, but eye contact was lost, facts became optional, and the overall change in behavior was very surprising and disappointing. Fortunately my clothes are fine, but if there was ever a real problem where more than $.40 for card processing was at stake, I know the experience would be as bad or worse."
"Avoid this place at all costs! They were fine with other clothes but they stained my light colored suit and never told me about it as a second time customer. Gave a second chance for 5 items, 2 alterations. 2 weeks to get done. Arrive on time and says too busy, 1 more week. For a place with signs saying no responsibility for damages or losses and a fine for late pickup, this place lacks accountability and customer service. “If you don’t like it you can not come back.” Definitely won’t!"
