Clothesline Laundromat

"Stopped in to wash clothes midway through my Boston trip staying in the LMA. Clean and safe area, everything appeared to be in working order and the quarter machine was well stocked. The 2 load washing machines are newer and are only $5 per load for cold wash, 20 minute cycle. They had larger machines available as well. The dryers cost 25 cents per 4 minutes and only took 20 minutes to dry my load (didn’t have any heavy fabrics). Very happy to have found this place - many other places in the area require you to first pay for their reloadable card and then add funds on top of that."

"The owner of this establishment has no knowledge of how germs spread, cross-contamination etc. I went to this laundromat for the first time and was horrified by the lack of access to water or sanitizer at a laundromat. What sense does it make to wash dirty clothes and then use the same dirty hands to now transfer clean clothes into the dryer. I called the owner about this and he laughed on the other end of the phone, and informed me that they’d been in business for 42 years. I have no idea how, even after a pandemic, their hygiene has not improved. It is disturbing. There is also no attendant present so you can’t troubleshoot an issue with a washer or dryer since no one is on site. I will not be returning."

"Clean and pretty nice. There are top loaders and front loaders that range in size (2-6 loads) and price ($3.5-9, at the time of writing). The express washer only took 20 minutes. There is parking behind the building or street parking. I have only been once but my experience was very pleasant."
