"The manger of Cato’s in Jesup is one of the most professional people I have ever met. She is friendly and kind. She offered very helpful suggestions, as I was shopping, yet she did not crowd me, and allowed me the peace of browsing and choosing. The store is Well organized and clean. I will definitely return to this store. Five star experience!"
"It would be nice if I didn’t have to leave a star at all! I was in search of specific attire for an event so I came to Jesup to shop at David’s Men & Women’s Boutique. They didn’t have what I was looking for so the gentleman suggested I try Cato’s being that there’s not many options in the area. Upon entry in the store, there wasn’t any associates on the floor but my friend and I browsed around to see what they had to offer. Once we came to the area near the checkout counter to go around to the other side of the store one of the young ladies came from behind the counter (neither one of them spoke or acknowledged us) and proceeded to follow us trying to be incognito. After we looked ar a few items we proceeded to exit the store and she yelled out in a very rude and sarcastic tone “y’all have a great day” as if she was sending us on our way. The elephant in the room is that we were the only African Americans in the store at the time and there were several Caucasians in and out who she never addressed as they left out and frankly she saw no need to follow in their footsteps while they shopped. I’m not sure how much training you all offer on diversity and racial profiling but maybe you need to do a refresher course so this doesn’t happen to any other AA customers. I felt belittled and taken aback once she yelled out in the manner that she did and it honestly took everything in me not to turn around and address her in that moment. As I told the gentleman who suggested I try Cato’s, “I literally forget that they even exist” and after this humiliating experience I’ll continue to keep them out of my memory!"
"One staff member was very nice and attentive; Salesperson #102, short dark cute haircut. However two other staff members in the store was horse playing the entire time I was in the store. Running in and out of the storage closet laughing loudly. Another customer had to go ask one of them to let her into the dressing room. I love the clothes at Cato and prices are very reasonable as well."
"White clerk followed me around the store acting like she was cleaning the mirrors but the other lady at the register actually asked me if I needed help. Kudos to the young black lady. I give her a 5 ⭐'s.That's why I don't shop local in this racist town."
"Employees are very unprofessional. I walked in no one said anything. I looked around for 20 minutes, still no one said anything. I went in with intentions of getting help with an outfit to wear to my friends wedding and walked out with nothing. Just wish they could've been a little more profession. Oh well, on to the next store."
