"One of the oil trucks just went by my home on East Road in Adams. Had to have been going at least 50 mph. Slow your drivers down!!"
"Two straight years of terrible customer service. Last year they cancelled on us 2 times before finally coming to clean our furnace well into heating season. This year they never scheduled us an appointment automatically like they had been doing for years but also didnt bother to tell us they handn't done so. When we called and made our appointment they couldn't come until middle or December. Of course on that day they don't show or even call to say they arent coming. Then when we call I get serious disrespectful comments from them."
"I probably waited too long to review O’Connell oil, but I know with the winter coming on, you’re going to need somebody, but I would never buy oil from them or have them service or clean my furnace again. All I’m gonna say, if they service your furnace and it needs parts you should definitely check how much they’re charging you over the retail price that you can purchase it. Remembering that retail price is still marked up on the average of about 100% percent and they get discounted wholesale prices. They came and cleaned my furnace and found a problem, It needed a new aqua stat relay, but they didn’t have the part, they said they’d be back and wouldn’t charge me to put it in. They came back within the next couple of days and put the new part in. I got another bill for the part over and above the cleaning and they charged me over $500.00, I looked up the retail price of the part and I could buy it for $215 + - through a supply company. I say $215.00 ….so they probably purchased it for about $75.00 to $100.00. I understand that they have to mark it up, but then when they told me there was no charge to come back and put it in, with the markup….they Basically got another service call and then some $$$ ! I feel as though they screwed me even if they marked it up 100 bucks I could’ve lived with that but when they bought it for about 100 and charge me over 500 that’s robbery, so just remember when doing business with O’Connell Oil check what they’re doing and how much they’re charging you if your furnace needs parts. I did call and complained with the manager and he didn’t seem to care. He said all the Oil companies in the area do the same thing."
"Just finished a home oil to propane conversion project with O'Connell Oil Associates, and I can't help but express my satisfaction. The installation was efficient and precise, clearly reflecting their high level of expertise and commitment to quality. They were also proactive in addressing any questions and concerns we had during the process. Overall, the project has exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend O'Connell Oil Associates."
"I was on auto delivery. My tank almost ran out of oil 3 times because they said I had more oil than I actually did. I had to call them and tell them. Why have auto delivery??? Also, we had a snow and ice storm. Truck couldn't make it up driveway. No one told me or left a note. I called them. The only way I knew was from tire tracks and running over driveway marker. Spoke to manager who was friendly. He said to plow the driveway and they will try again. I said this will just make it icier. So I plowed the inch or two of snow off the ice. As I said it made it worse. Manager called me and raised his voice. Told me I have to call and must have "bare blacktop" and call when I need oil. Accused me of not treating the driveway. I plowed it as he asked. I actually have photos. As soon as I was able to sand, I did. New oil company had no issues. You can't yell at your customers. If they only deliver to bare blacktop driveways they must not have any customers since most driveways in my area are dirt or have some snow on them... the old driver Bud who used to deliver for at least 20 years never had an issue."
