Reviews of BayCoast Bank
"This branches staff has been pleasant and great to work with, however I had a poor and shocking experience with the bank as a whole. I’ve been a capital one customer for 12 years. Recently they removed all local ATMs that allow depositing cash (withdrawals only), and replaced it with an arbitrary system to bring cash to CVS in extremely limited amounts to deposit into their accounts. So I decided to look for a new bank, but first I wanted to get the cash I’ve been collecting from selling used items (garage sale, boat, etc) into my capital one account, before I decided to change all of my auto-payments and direct deposits. I thought opening a free checking account and making some cash deposits and transfers would be a great place to start and test out a new bank, their apps, etc. I deposited $12,000 into my new BayCoast account and began to transfer the money to my capital one account. BayCoast limits outgoing transfers up to $1,000 per day and no more than $10,000 per month. Annoying, but way better than capital one’s new limits using CVS cash deposits. I reached out to customer service to verify the best way to transfer money between accounts I own at different bank and they said that was my limit, or I could pay for a wire transfer which I thought was ridiculous. After a few days of transfers I received a call from their VP of security about suspicious activity on my account. I spent 20 minutes explaining what I was doing and making sure I was within my account limits and he said everything was okay and would allow me to use my account again. The next day I tried to transfer again, and I wasn’t able too, I called them in the morning and the customer service rep told me they still needed to make a decision (even though he told me the day prior everything was all good) and that the VP would call me back. After waiting 6 hours and receiving no call. I called back again, spoke to customer service and they said once again the VP will call me back with no update about what decision had to be made. When the VP finally called back, the literal first thing he said to me was that if all I’m going to do is deposit and transfer cash that they didn’t want me as a customer. I said it’s only been a few days you have no idea what my intentions or use patterns are, and although I appreciate the caution and suspicion for fraud, I am using the account within the limits set by the bank and was recommended to me by customer service and even verified it was me doing the transactions. He continued to tell me he didn’t want me as a customer. When I told him my goal was to find a new bank and to switch from capital one, AND to bring my two businesses over he changed his tune and said he’d allow me 30 days to continue using the account, but if I continue to do cash only they would cancel my account. I decided to close my account and find a new bank immediately. When I went to my local branch to cancel my account (again the staff here is great) they let me know I could have asked for a free temporary check to move my money faster and easier, an option not a single customer service rep told me (I reached out twice asking about transfer limits) or the VP of security recommended, saying I could only do up to $1,000 per day. Being suspicious, monitoring my account, and making sure nothing wrong is happening would all be respectable practices, and help me feel my money is secure. Threatening to cancel my account after a few days, $12,000 of in person cash deposits and $5,000 in verified approved transfers (all within the established limits by this bank and recommendations of their virtual staff) seems incredibly inappropriate and aggressive actions from this bank and their VP of Security. Don’t open an account here."
"I love BayCoast in general and use this branch for all my banking needs. The tellers are always friendly and personable, the lobby clean with a working coin machine, and the ATMs are always open/working with an interactive teller often available. You can even choose the denominations of cash from the ATM, which is perfect for cash budgeters. I'm a BayCoast loyalist, there are some good people behind the counter."
"Definitely recommend this branch. I worked with Alison Smith on a closing and she acted as an anchor for the process. She went above and beyond to help me with my processing and was very proactive."
"My husband and I use BayCoast for both personal and business. We use the bank for everyday banking as well as mortgages on personal and commercial properties. Everyone we deal with is absolutely amazing. Andrea P, manager @ Seekonk, is great answering our questions as well as making us feel part of the BayCoast family when we walk in to do banking (She asks my 5 year old what kind of snacks he'd like to see in the lobby!). Our loan officers have always been there to answer questions, etc. I highly recommend using Baycoast because they have everything large banks have but have a small bank feel. During this COVID outbreak they went above and beyond to help us secure PPP funds. Other banks dropped the ball yet BayCoast ran with the ball and hit a slam dunk. Thank you for all our banking needs!"
"This is my business bank. Great service, professional and knowledgeable staff. They complete tasks right and fast."
