About Us

Welcome to XC Art Center, a vibrant hub for artistic exploration and education located at 330 West Cummings Park, Woburn, Massachusetts. Founded in 2008, XC Art Center—formerly known as Xiaowei Chen Art Studio—has become a beacon for aspiring artists from across the United States, Canada, China, Singapore, and beyond. Our center is dedicated to nurturing a profound appreciation for art, encouraging life observation, and fostering self-expression through a deep understanding of artistic fundamentals.
At XC Art Center, we believe that art education goes beyond mastering basic skills. Our mission is to equip future generations with the ability to appreciate contemporary art, observe life from diverse perspectives, and create works of integrity. Guided by our core philosophy of originality and personal uniqueness, we aim to cultivate leadership and cooperation among our students, helping them to broaden their horizons through meaningful communication.
Our program features guest lectures from contemporary artists, providing students with the opportunity to explore various art forms and gain insights from experienced professionals. The Art Center's gallery regularly showcases outstanding student artworks, and curators from renowned art museums guide students in planning and setting up their exhibitions. This hands-on experience extends to studios, galleries, and museums, deepening students' understanding of art in both life and spirit.
Our exhibitions predominantly feature works by young artists aged 6 to 17, highlighting the creativity and talent of our students. These exhibitions are divided into four age groups: 6 to 8 years, 8 to 11 years, 11 to 13 years, and 13 to 17 years. With 50 to 100 artworks on display, the exhibitions are a testament to our students' achievements and are publicized in local newspapers such as Woburn, Lexington, and Winchester. Additionally, members of the Art Alliance, including Angel Dance Studio, are invited to complement the exhibition with dance and cello performances.
At XC Art Center, we celebrate a culture of creativity and growth, encouraging our students to push the boundaries of their artistic abilities. Our students' achievements, such as Sophia Zhang's Scholastic Boston Gold Medal and National Silver Medal, and Stephanie Li's Scholastic Boston Gold and National Gold Medals, are a testament to their hard work and dedication. These accolades, along with recognition from organizations like OCIYAC, inspire our young artists to continue their creative journeys.
Join us at XC Art Center, where art comes to life, and creativity knows no bounds.

"My daughter is 8 years old. She has been studying with Miss Meena and Miss Xiaowei for nearly two years, and her drawing skills have significantly improved during this time. I appreciate their patience and their ability to engage with students effectively. What I like the most is how each student produces unique drawings, showcasing their personal creativity and interpretation of each topic. I highly recommend this art studio."
"My daughter has been studying here for 2 years, and her progress from learning the basics to participating in competitions is amazing. Ms. Xiaowei is an excellent artist and teacher, and my child is so lucky to meet such a good teacher!"
"Ms. Xiaowei is an outstanding teacher, creating a delightful and encouraging atmosphere for children to flourish in their artistic endeavors. My daughter finds inspiration not only from Ms. Xiaowei but also from other children in the class. The new art center is a visual treat – bright, clean, and adorned like a charming art gallery. I highly recommend checking it out!"
"My daughter has been attending art lessons with Xiaowei for several years. Despite the availability of various art schools and teachers in our vicinity, Xiaowei stands out as the absolute best. She brings a unique blend of humor, engagement, and encouragement, inspiring the kids to develop their own ideas and artistic styles. Xiaowei's classes are never dull; they not only impart essential sketching skills but also nurture planning and color theories. We've observed surprising benefits beyond the realm of art. With years of drawing lessons under Xiaowei's guidance, my daughter has not only honed her sketching abilities but has also seen improvements in her writing skills. Xiaowei instilled in her a habit of observing things from different perspectives, understanding the logic behind everything, and enabling her to notice details that often go unnoticed by others. As my daughter has matured, her involvement with the XC Art Center has led to her artwork gaining recognition in prestigious art competitions, including the honor of a gold medal and exhibition in Tokyo, Japan! We firmly believe these skills will continue to be immensely beneficial as she advances into high school and college."
