"So glad that Davis Square now has this lovely bookstore. I appreciate that the owner thoughtfully selects which books to stock on their shelves. It’s a combination of titles that are popular and titles that are new or not that well known (or at least not me). The selection is very inclusive of authors from local, diverse, and/or marginalized backgrounds. And the vibe in the store is just super cozy as well!"
"Such a great selection of books! So many amazing titles by a diverse range of authors, including classics, contemporary best sellers, and lesser known books. There’s even a used book section! The owner was also very friendly. Can’t wait to come back."
"Yes! Yes! A bookstore in Davis Square again! And a COOL bookstore at that. We need a bookstore every mile or so. You know it. I know it. But THEY (whoever they are, the non-bookish types) don't want you to have that bookstore density. And then Narrative popped into being, and we have one more house of joy in our neighborhood. Bookstore density inches back to where it should be. The quality of curation is high. If you consider how many books you can read in a lifetime, in a year, or even in a month, you'll realize that even in a cozy book store like Narrative there are more books than you're likely to have time to read. So quality is important. If you don't know what to read, you'll find something you'll realize you want to read. Hardcovers. Paperbacks. "Pre-loved" books. Books by and for people of color. Books for kids. Books for people with curious minds. Signed copies by local author / dynamo R. F. Kuang!!! And a personable, engaged, and driven owner. It's your new bookstore."
"A great idea, a lovely shop, and very nice people. Wonderful to walk in, get a recommendation, and leave with a book you'll enjoy. A great addition to Davis Square, and a lovely place to swing by after a stroll down the community path. Can't say enough nice things about this place."
"Such a great selection of books in-store! And they have a sizable “pre-loved” books section. Anytime I’m in the area, I will definitely pop in again!"
