"Absolutely love Purple Couch Bookstore! They have a fantastic selection of books organized in a way that always catches my eye. The staff are incredibly friendly and so helpful if you’re looking for something. They’ll also order you books if you can’t find what you’re looking for in store! Besides books, there’s an awesome selection of gifts, reader merch (bookmarks, book lights, fun stickers, organizers, totes, etc) as well as cards, puzzles, journals, etc. This store means serious business when it comes to catering to your every need! Do not sleep on them!"

"The Purple Couch is a warm and friendly independent book store situated in the Market Basker plaza on RT 114 in North Andover. They host many community events that are geared toward getting children and adults engaged in the language arts. In a world of homogeneous chain stores that only seem to serve as a means to an end, it is nice to know we have a personable retail bookseller close by with a strong connection to community. Kate and the crew dmakways strive to make each customer feel seen and valued. It is indeed refreshing."

The Purple Couch Bookshop -- owner, staff, & atmosphere alike -- it's a much desired breath of fresh air... **The first couple times I went to this bookshop, I was just looking for a place to work remotely because I mostly work from home & need a change of environment now & then. Just the fact that they were instantly welcoming & even encouraging me to sit wherever, for however long I wanted [with ZERO guilt or pressure to make a single purchase] felt amazing.** That good feeling only got better with each time I was there -- to the point where I was determined to make at least 1 purchase -- if only to say thank you! (I couldn't stop at just 1 purchase -- honestly, but proudly, I splurged & then I took a bunch of pics to show people I want to take there!) **The time I spent there, working on my laptop off to the side, I witnessed more & more to fall in love with, in both the store AND staff! I can't explain it in any other way than to say being there felt like coming home. "Mama and baby Bigfoot came here for “babies at the bookshop” and it was a lovely time. The store is quiet but full of positive energy. It’s beautifully curated and has a specific little room for babies/toddlers to explore books. The “babies at the bookshop” gathering is a low-key, come and go type of event near the back of the book shop, and had a few key books and toys placed around blankets and pillows, which made for a cozy experience. The ladies who work there are sweet as pie and the book selection is off the charts. Highly recommend and will be coming back again, solo and as a family!"
