"Very nice library but not great hours for little kids (should be 8am and more on wkds, especially Sundays); and wish they could expand offerings for kids under the age of 2.5 before 10:30am, and update kids room. There is a high demand and other towns libraries have more offerings for this age group! Updated from to add: otherwise it’s great and kids enjoy! Hope for more kids programming on wkds and maybe AC up stronger on second floor, but it’s so well run and very special place!!"
"I have been a needham resident for over 10 years and i have never had such discrimination and racism hurled towards me. i came here with 3 of my friends who were all people of color and we got yelled 4 times by the employees saying that we were “too loud” meanwhile on the upper floor i heard dozens of people screaming at the top of their lungs. i even heard a few of them saying racial slurs like the n word and the f slur. i was appalled at what i was hearing yet we got yelled at. For example the first time we were told to quiet down we understood even though we’re not even loud. The second time we got yelled at by this creepy janitor who was extremely rude and made a rude comment under his breath after he told us to be quiet. The final time we got yelled at was when this lady came out of nowhere and yelled “you guys need to be quiet” meanwhile i heard multiple people upstairs screaming and we all told her that it was the people upstairs and she yelled back saying “I DON’T CARE” she tried to cut herself off when saying it but she wasn’t able to. We were all in shock and couldn’t believe what was happening. We were not screaming at all yet we got targeted multiple times."
"Fantastic library! Very helpful and friendly staff. Wide selection on site. If you're in a hurry or not feeling very social you can reserve a book online, pick it up in a special area, check it out yourself, and be on your way. But everyone is so nice, you'll miss out if you don't interact. Library friends have a good quantity and selection of books, CDs and DVDs for sale at the self-service sale area. But if you see something interesting, better get it now, because things do sell quickly. The Book Sale is going on now, and has a huge selection and great pricing of $1 and under. The last day is flat price for a bagful!"
"Great library, they have a good selection of books. The children's library is on of the best I've seen. The computer area is excellent also."
"I have been going to this library since I was a little kid in the early 1970s. It has only gotten better. I did not realize how fortunate Needham is to have such a good public library until I lived in many other towns and cities that do not have such amazing public resources."
