"We had to use this funeral service because my sister prepaid part of her services with them before she died. It was an absolutely AWFUL experience from start to finish. In the entire process of working with Edward Doherty, he made absolutely zero allowances for me or my family (the bereaved). All business focused 100% on what he needed, what he wanted, and how he was going to proceed. It went like this: on the DAY my sister died, Eddie told me what to bring, (an outfit, clothes for her, etc.). I told him I needed a day or two to get them because she lived on the Cape and I needed to drive down to her house. He gave me attitude and told me he really needed clothes for her that same day. Mind you, her services were not happening for five days. The next day, when I delivered her clothes and went through the service with him, I asked him to please find out from the priest how long the service would be. Well Eddie didn't like that and told me we shouldn't dictate what the priest would do. That is not what I asked him. All I asked was how long the service would take, as we had elderly relatives driving up from the Cape and they wanted to know. No one was telling anyone what to do. He never asked the priest this for us. During the process I asked multiple times to put remaining charges on my credit card and Eddie kept telling me he would. Two days before my sister's funeral I called them and requested AGAIN to pay in advance, and I said: "Please do not ask me to pay on the day of my sister's funeral. I know that I will not be in a good state of mind that day." I was assured they would call me right back with final billing, but they never did. SO - on the day of my sister's funeral Eddie came to me and asked for payment. We of course paid him that day and were completely floored by his callousness. In the entire process of working with him, he made it all much more stressful and difficult than it should have been. If you consider using this funeral service, be warned: there is zero regard for what you are going through."
"Jack did an absolutely stellar service for my mother. In this exhausting experience of mourning, the one area we did not find stress was how Jack and his team handled everything. He helped us navigate the logistics and handled it with a gentle heart during this trying time. While I hope to not have to use their services soon haha, they are the best at what they do."

"When my brother passed away in Boston, Massachusetts I needed to find a funeral home to take care of his arrangements. I’m not from the area so I started searching online and in the newspapers to find a funeral home. The first ad I saw in the local newspaper was for P.E. Murray F.J. Higgins, George F Doherty & Sons Funeral Home so I gave them a call. I spoke with Mr. Ed Doherty Sr and then with his son Ed Doherty Jr. Ed Jr. was very empathetic and caused all my stress to immediately dissipate as I spoke with him. He handled all the funeral arrangements and specific actions required for a military burial. I was overwhelmed with all the things I needed to do for this but Ed Jr. made this very easy and coordinated the entire event with the VA and the Boston Veterans Services. Ed Jr. was available for any questions and answered all calls and personal text from me. This funeral home assisted me with all the necessary preparations in a sincere and professional manner and provided excellent service to my brother and my family. Thank you!"
