For those who require additional assistance, we offer interpreter services and can help arrange for continued care or rehabilitation services if needed.

"Waited over 2 hours just to be in the care of passive aggressive hospital staff that did absolutely nothing to help me. I don't recommend visiting if you have an emergency. I wish I could post the picture of my bruised arm to show the care I received."
"Amazing experience!!! Highly recommended if you have Medicare! They treat you like royalty. I was there today, I was exhausted from a fishing expedition in cape Cod. I was so sore and needed a spa day. I was greeted with two absolutely gorgeous female nurses, they took me to the Vanderbilt wing of the hospital. They gave me a sponge bed and full body massage. After 5 hour massage they give me Don Perrion mimosas. With blue lobster diavolo . After that they fired up the private jet and took me back home. I just want to thank the residence of Newport for picking up the bill"
"I have been a frequent patient in the NH ER of late. Overall the experiences have been very positive ones. The wait is either quite brief or lengthy depending on the number of patients being seen but overall the wait time generally meets expectations. The triage nurses are always very professional and efficient. The ER nurses, support staff and physicians are very good. I always feel in good hands when I am a patient there and find the doctors very willing to discuss various aspects of care. Two staff members deserve commendation for their very warm, efficient and reassuring demeanor. Justin, a tech and Emily, a nurse. One glaring problem, however, is the lack of follow through regarding test results. Once you leave the ER it is very difficult to secure results that were performed or even to discuss concerns regarding the hospital processing of the results. Of course, they are posted to the Lifespan portal. And of course you can discuss with your PCP when and if they are available. But that's not the issue. The issue relates to the processing of the results at the hospital level. Was the test performed as discussed during the visit with the ER physician. What should one anticipate from the tests performed at the hospital level. Follow through should be complete and thorough by a proxy for the physician such as a senior designated staff member/charge nurse to relay and discuss the results for the tests obtained during the stay. The dedicated line for this process has a voice mail with only sporadic returns. I have found this aspect of care to be completely and repetitively lacking. It is a true negative because care should not stop at the press button exit door. And it does. Over and over. Especially if results remain pending and very vital to a patient's care at the time of discharge. As to the male charge nurse with whom I just spoke on 5/27 at 4:30? There is and should be no room for rudeness and unprofessionalism."
"My child, only child went there and has brain cancer. She went there with symptoms that should had triage a priority as her tumor is growing into her spinal cord. They did Labs and had her waiting two hours after they put her in a room to be seen, three hours in the waiting room! They were rude! They didn't even check to see if she had a brain bleed or anything! When I called after 1 am I was met with, "we did everything." You have xray, mri vision? You saw the tumor? Making sure it wasn't going to paralyze my child??? My mother passed away there in 2016 of sepsis! First thing in the morning I'm larging a complaint! Worse hospital ever! Or staffing! She was there from 6pm to after 1am! They sent her home with referrals? To not check what's causing her the debilitating pain! Numbness on the left side of her face! Sad she even worked there as a teen and they mistreated her!"
"I've spent many hours in this ER personally and with friends and family. My experiences have always been quite good given the circumstances. They may not be perfect, but they care are patient and achieve good clinical outcomes. Far less stressful than most bigger city hospitals. Highly recommended. Good job to the staff and medical professionals."
