Reviews
"I have seen Dr. Barnes as my Podiatrist for years and very pleased with my care."
"Dr. Barnes and her staff are superb professionals. I highly recommend the doctor due to the excellent care she has provided both my husband and me for several years. The staff has always been friendly and attentive."
"Do yourself a favor and find another doctor. She's rude and condescending and blames patients for their issues."
"I do not recommend Dr. Barnes. I had surgery for hammer toes and a tailer bunion. After surgery, she told me I had a tiny, tiny pin in my baby toe. It took a very long time to heal and never healed correctly. About a year later, an open sore developed between the baby toe and the next toe. I treated it with ointment, but it continued to hurt, and my second toe was rubbing on my big toe, causing inflammation and soreness. I still had the tailor bunion, but a bit smaller. The next time the open sore appeared on my baby toe, I had a nasty blister on my second toe. I went to see Dr. Barnes, and she told me I had cellulitis on my baby toe and gave me an antibiotic. She dismissed the blister on my second toe and told me to use lambs wool. Two weeks later, I went to my primary care doctor with a painful foot and got a prescription. I went to another podiatrist, had X-rays, and found I had a sharp edge on the bone of a corrected hammer toe, causing the blister due to rubbing my big toe, and there were two screws in my baby toe digging into my toe and pushing at the bottom of my foot, causing pain when walking, and the tip of the bone was dislodged. I had a second surgery to remove the screws, smooth the edge of the bone protruding and constantly blistering, and remove the tailor bunion. A month later, I was in sneakers, and three months later in shoes, dancing, and hiking. I was distraught by these issues that were never going to get better, and Dr. Barnes’s lack of investigation of the issues, had lied to me about the two screws in my toe, and did not address the inflammation and extremely painful blister properly, leaving me using lambs wool for the rest of my life, suffer with the constant pain, and hope it did not get infected. She would always start walking out the door while I was still talking. I found it disturbing, but I let it pass as a poor bedside manner. My assessment now is that she did not have the skills for the surgery I needed and should have referred me to someone who did. The surgery was poorly done, and I believe she knew that when I returned with these severe problems. After that, I did not trust her and was angry that she dismissed the issues I was having caused by her surgery."
"I am giving 1 star for the office, not the doctor. After speaking to office staff by phone, they were able to fit me in since Dr. Diresta had a cancellation. They told me I would have to pay my copay. I left work early and headed to the appointment. When I arrived, I was told that they contacted my Blue Cross PPO, and I would have to pay almost $300 in full (deductible amount) prior to services since I am a new patient and they have patients who end up not paying their bill. There was NO phone call to me prior to my arrival informing me of this information. I was then told I could pay by credit card, American Express included. When I gave my American Express card, I was told that the machine sometimes has trouble processing American Express cards and it might not go through. It didn't. Because their machine could not process the payment, and I wasn't prepared to pay more than $50, they told me they could not offer services. Poor office management!"
