Reviews
"Incredibly unprofessional."
"After trying for 6 years to find a therapist that was a good fit for me, after 3 years of crazy meds!!! Like a gift from god IV. Came into my life. As horrible and aweful as my road to stable mental health was ( that's what happens it get worse before it gets better) she never gave up on me. After 3 years I had all the coping skills I needed. I am now 3 years off meds but still continue with my therapy. If you are truly ready to embrace the realities in your life, if you are ready to pack away your baggage , your past, your pain, your hurt and sorrow I highly recommend IV. She is relentless in her pursuit of her patients mental stability. She is very easy to talk to and very funny at times. I sometimes think where would I be today if I hadn't found her and I know the answer.... I wouldn't be."
"IV is extremely intuitive and her insights are invaluable. I can't recommend her highly enough!"
"IV is very easy to talk to, I was nervous and she put me at ease right away. I will definitely be back."
"The first question she ask us as my husband and I walked in. "Have you been to therapy before, and how was it for you?". As I was saying all of this I was completely distracted by what she was wearing. A mini dress with puffy sleeves, bare legs and high platform black heels. What was more distracting was that she was always messing with her skirt trying to pull it down, since it was so short it kept riding up. I told her about my own time with therapists and how I have trust issues with them when we first start out. My husband and I sat down and tried to start the conversation. We talked for a bit before the attacking started. Both my my husband and I felt like she took his side of things and started to come after me about how I word my sentences. Completely just not listening to me. I can't say how my husband felt, but honestly I have never felt so unheard in my life. And at some point I started to shut down and wall myself up. She blurts out, "I can tell you don't like me..." I can't explain to yo how insulting it was for some random women to just assume that I don't like her upon meeting her. For anyone who has been to therapy, we all know the first session is a hard one. What do we talk about? How can I get my monies worth? Will this person judge me for who I am? I am not a person to judge but I was complete taken aback by how unprofessional IV Mitchell is. Her out fit was distracting to me, not that I didn't like it. But I would have chosen that for a night out with the girls. Not for a downtown Boston job, where it's your job to make people feel comfortable. But whatever, wear what you want! The biggest point that I want to make to people who are considering IV, you need to have you walls up with this one. She thinks her bluntness is helpful, but ti's not when there isn't trust built first. All this being said, Michael and I left her office only 23 mins into the session. This by far the worst experience I have had."
