Reviews of Tufts Medical Center Primary Care - Boston
"Visited my son, daughter in law and new grand baby in the maternity unit. Was greatly disappointed in the up keep of the rooms. I gave birth to my son 30 years ago there and it looks like not much has changed. The walls need painting. The radiator cover needs to be replaced. The blinds are old and crooked. The bathroom, my, my, my. A dark hole. The seats for the visitors actually are sinking in the middle. Thought we might fall through. This is just the beginning of the list. My son said that “Tufts does not do tours”. I see why now. If they did people would go elsewhere. I know I would. Also, the nursing staff are not very interactive especially with first time parents. Like I said. Tufts needs to step it up big time. They are a big city hospital that is out done by small town ones like Newberry Port hospital. My daughter had her child there 3 months ago. Very nice room and extremely supportive nursing staff. Tufts you can do better!"
"Poor healthcare. Had a test done and waited almost a YEAR for a follow up with the specialist just to have them call and reschedule. The new appointment was more than a YEAR after the test. Told them not to bother as it is obviously not a priority. Hope I'm right. Guess I could call back and try to make an appointment but, I don't feel like waiting another year. No respect for people's time, health or money."
"Tufts Primary Care at 260 Tremont is the most poorly designed and managed heal care facility I’ve been to. At check in, you are forced to stand in line in the door way with everyone going in and out around you and no privacy when it’s your turn to speak to the receptionist. Each exam room is identified by a piece of paper taped to the door instead of proper name plates. The computer system doesn’t work in exam rooms. We’ve met some rude doctors and nurses though some were nice. If you go to the blood draw room, be prepared for the fact that it’s a small room divided into 2 sections separated by a curtain. You will either have other patients and their companions walk right past you while you are having your blood drawn if you are in the front section, or you will have to walk past another patient having their blood drawn to get to the back section - never seen that kind of set up at other facilities. It wasn’t easy getting an appointment so we were looking forward to it. What a thorough disappointment. We will not go back."
"Avoid this hospital and healthcare system at all costs. If you truly value the quality of people, doctors and care you’re receiving, go elsewhere. We live in Boston, which has some of the best hospitals in the world. If you do come here, be prepared for absolute nightmares answering the phone and coordinating/scheduling, mean nurses and staff, incompetent foreign doctors and internists who will treat you like cattle, scheduling that is out multiple months for any kind of appt involving an actual MD or specialist, even if you just got out of the hospital and have a legitimate reason. Everyone I have encountered here, after being hospitalized for the better part of a month and then 6 months of follow ups, has been completely incompetent and spoken to me as if I don’t know what I am talking about when asking questions or voicing concerns about a serious condition. I used to think so highly of medical and hospital staff during the pandemic, not any more after visiting tufts. Don’t waste your time here. They don’t care about you, they care about getting you in for as many meaningless appointments as possible and getting your insurance for every dime they can. Something needs to change regarding how this place is run! Don’t go here!"
"Well I personally didn’t really appreciate how hard it was to get in to see a E.N.T doctor when I kept complaining about my ears. I had to tell my primary care Dr I wanted to see one. I also had a cyst and ingrown hair in my nose. Had to fight for it. Unfair my insurance covered the E.N.T doctor. Why should we have to wait & ask for a referral if we need the help? W.E. Idc anymore. I got in and he did some tests and gave me this antibacterial cream that I had no idea even existed. Works great. Another thing was I scheduled an appointment to see my neurologist online and then never got a confirmation or an appointment at all until I called over the phone . Awful customer service experience. Now I’m waiting until March yay could not be more excited… guess if I have seizures I’ll just lie down in my bed and die until March. Can’t get help at CVS or Walgreens. Nothing helps. Not even these silly prescriptions. I will still go though because I love my neurologist and the neurosurgeon he sent me to. Great guys I loved the entire team. It’s just unfair and unhelpful sometimes. I get Covid , but that’s a revolving circle for everyone. Companies have to do better job for everyone to get in & see their doctors."
