"This doctor is a PILLPUSHER - Anesthesiologist AND Addiction Medicine? - wow what a combo! A doctor specialized in administering pain meds for decades who also "helps" patients come off of them once addicted is for lack of better term "having your cake and eating it too". Getting paid on both ends of the Opioid epidemic is a really heartwarming notion. One addiction to another, and doc gets paid on both ends! "He is wasting his time in treatment" are words that came out of this man's mouth. Once in his addiction medicine practice he'll keep patients on Suboxone for as long as possible, prevent them from seeking treatment, and went as far as to refuse helping one of his patients because they were in a treatment facility and not his office. He's apparently he's above the Hippocratic Oath he swore, to first do no harm. I truly cannot think of any reason aside from making a bit of $$$ for each prescription he writes that he would deter one of his own patients from seeking treatment at a rehabilitation facility for their addiction. "WHAT?! That money is supposed to be mine!", is a thought I imagine crosses his mind with some frequency. It's no secret that pharmaceutical sales reps communicate regularly with doctors about new meds and offer incentives for prescribing them. The docs get a cut, the sales reps hit their quota and the company gets their pills out the door...what about the patients? They stay addicted for as long as Mr Stinson and other "doctors" like?. There is no mental health or addiction counseling experience or training required for an MD to be granted a license to prescribe Suboxone in an "Addiction Medicine" capacity, so I really struggle to understand how he's qualified to say when a patient should or should not seek outside treatment. As an Anesthesiologist Mr Stinson was most certainly exposed to the gambit of pain meds, their associated sales reps, and made a pretty penny in the process - years later he get's a license to prescribe Suboxone and you have what some might call a conflict of interest...but hey it's legal so it's right, right?"
"I think that Dr Stinson is a fantastic doctor he has helped me very much in my recovery. he has also been open and very willing to work with my family and doing group appointments. He understands exactly what you're going through and will do anything he can to help you. He has worked with my husand and I as well. I think that's great he always has the time to meet you and getting an appointment is very easy I feel he gets to know you and you're not just another number in a file. For anyone to think that he is anything but great doesn't understand and I was appalled to read a review that someone thinks their alcoholic mother has been given medicine she is now addicted to I could not believe this person's review. I feel like he treats you with respect and does not look down on you because you have a disease he is very helpful and I recommend him to anybody"
"This man is unprofessional and rude. He is supposed to have experience in addiction but in my experience, he doesn’t help addicts he hurts them. My mother is an alcoholic and is now addicted to the medication prescribed by him. I know he needs to keep patient confidentiality and is not aloud to speak about his patients without consent but he is able to listen. I called him days ago explaining that my mother is addicted to the medication prescribed by him and he was extremely rude to me during the entire conversation. It ended with him telling me that my mom can find a new doctor which was fine with me. She went into detox and the hospital had her on a different medication with the same affects as her other one except this med was not addictive. When she got out of detox she went straight to him and he gave her a full prescription of the med she had just withdrawn from. I called him again and I told him again that she’s addicted to this medication and she shouldn’t be prescribed it and he hung up on my face. Not only is he helping her destroy life but her physical health is declining because of the addiction now. He has prescribed more then she needs many times and that’s why she takes more then needed. My mother took two steps forward and three steps back because of this man. I do not reccomend Dr.Stinson for anyone who is looking for help with addiction. He will not help he will only hurt and his best interest is not in the patients health."
"Extremely rude and disrespectful. Not willing to work with any patient's collaterals."
"Best doctor I've ever worked with. Would recommend and refer him to anyone and everyone! Very considerate of my time and always focuses on treating the patient not the symptom."
