"Totally out to lunch this guy...... no clue of what his patients diagnosis are or meds their taking, but clicking refill every 6 months is actually why we kept going there UNTIL A MEDICATION THAT CAN POSSIBLY CAUSE PROBLEMS & SHOULD BE MONITORED WASNT & an emergency admission to the hospital for a week was the result! Can’t continue this way. When he needs to get on computer its a whole nother clown scene..... Do not recommend..."
"When I was recommended to Dr Allison from the beginning even thing was fine but know Dr Allison practices is not that great no communication with finding on patient health wise nor a letter and that’s not acceptable because my LDL,Triglyceride and Cholesterol was very high since 2016 and I had no type of communication with him nor his RN with any concern about my Lipid plus I did not know they all were high until I decided to download the app this January 2023 and sign into Gateway since 2016 they all were over boarder level to now plus the worse thing is I am in risk for Cardiac arrest because my Level is 5.2 and when I went to the office for my physical I write on the the paper that I needed to talk about my cholesterol he come in the room sit in front of the computer talking about the weather with his back turned never bring up the question I asked about on the paper so I decided to bring up the questions concerning my cholesterol when I started to talk to Dr Allison he was very dismissive with me even said that I don’t know what I am here for change the talk then said he was finished with me take me to the secretary tell her to make my next physical appointment and wait in the sitting room to get blood drawn i think that this type of work is not for him anymore but retirement should be an option because he has lost his ability to do a perfect job."
"I formerly had this provider as a PCP from 2018-2021 and had a total of 8 visits here and my experiences were exactly the same and literally echo what is written in several of the other 1-Star Google reviews under "Patty Bamonti', "althea 72", & "terminalgremlin" on this page. He's one of the only doctors accepting new patients out of all the BWH Primary Care offices all over the metro area as is another doctor at this practice who also has all 1-star reviews as well. Issues described: --This Dr is unable to follow simple directions whether it be ordering a test or faxing a signed form back to insurance for benefits coverage by the deadline having been asked several weeks prior in advance to do so prior to the due date. --Having/need any tests done? Good luck getting the results or any feedback or any questions answered from this Dr or this office staff. Staff does what the doctors tell them to do here and nothing more & usually answered messages with 1-liners way off the mark in response to what was clearly asked in the question to them, and/or didn't even bother to respond at all until being messaged multiple times by myself looking for a response to important questions. --The time spent with this doctor is under 5 minutes with the bulk of that time spent on his computer with his back turned clicking and popping keys on the computer like playing a piano. -IMPORTANT-Beware of expensive UPCODED & UNBUNDLED exorbitant charges assessed to bill for tests either to your insurance or out of pocket charges-I had 2 MRIs ordered for orthopedic injuries and was charged almost $2500 apiece totallng approximately $5000 for & then found out after the fact they should have been billed no higher than $703/$704 dollars for each totaling $1407 out of pocket and even less if billed via the insurance contracted rate but were billed the rate that they were billed due to this doctor's coding ??error and I confirmed this. Also be sure to obtain copy of visit notes after visit and fully review. You'll be shocked when you see his "agenda" for you. -He also adds items to the "Visit Note" & "AfterVisit Summary" sheet that states "Issues Discussed at Today's Visit" that either YOU DON'T HAVE AT ALL, WERE NEVER DISCUSSED AT THIS PARTICULAR VISIT, or issues you had prior or in the past but WERE NOT DISCUSSED at this particular visit. In some instances they bill for each "item" listed under issues discussed. He cost me a ton of time and it took me months upon months to have the chart & overall visit records corrected thru the Partners Chart Corrections Unit. --Also tries to force referrals on you you don't want or need(he possibly gets a commission for outside non-medical referrals of this type)-EX: Some type of medical counseling called 'collaborative care' conducted by a non-medical layperson offsite (conducted like in a laid back setting back & forth bantering manner like "hey, how's it going, welcome to Moe's." I was called about a dozen times by what sounded like a young guy, aka a "kid" real annoying in this manner leaving repeated voicemails after I repeatedly told him to stop calling me & I wasn't interested)-to ask your questions to & ask what specialists you'd need to see etc based on your conditions or concerns-Isn't that the doctor's job to answer his patient's questions and address their medical concerns?? I had to tell him no & also messaged a firm NO on the portal several times and he was very defensive about it at the next visit. -Office building is very old/at least or close to 100 yrs old & used to formerly be a hardware store for decades (Steven's Hardware) (I grew up in the immediate area) until being converted in the mid-1980s to the medical office it is today, exam rooms are only about the size of a large walk-in closet. -At one of the visits, when I was having my height measured while standing on the scale, the metal height bar came crashing down onto my head due to the medical tech's incompetence and stupidity who raised it all the way up to the max and let it go instead of holding it carefully as it slid down."
"I can't agree more with these other reviews. I work in healthcare and was so appalled by his behavior towards me that I was speechless my first visit. I decided to give him one more shot, and the second visit was even worse. He interpreted my questions as being defensive and would not answer a single question I had. He talked nonstop about irrelevant topics. He began clicking buttons adding referrals to specialists before even asking me if I wanted that and then also does the same things with procedures (just intitiates them without discussing with you). At the end of the second appointment, I walked out and asked to speak to the front desk woman privately. I told her I absolutely cannot work with him and asked if it was possible to switch providers within the clinic. She initially said no, but must have seen the look on my face and said she would try to arrange something and call me back tomorrow. Stay far away from this provider. Again, I interact with doctors day in and out in my career, I've seen the good and bad and never have I encountered anyone as terrible as this man."
"STRONGLY advise that you look elsewhere for a Primary Care Doctor. I had the unfortunate experience of being subjected to Dr. Glenn Allison as my Primary Care Physician for a brief but exasperating period of time. Dr. Allison is entirely unsuited to working with any patient population, being condescending, controlling, manipulative, covert and adversarial. He is exceptionally unfocused, confused and scatter-brained. He will run his mouth, jibber jabber incessantly with face in computer through the entire visit while being intentionally evasive and duck any question that is put to him. He intentionally withholds vital information and refuses to listen when direct questions are put to him, attempting to drown you out by talking over you. Only when I obtained a copy of my medical records could I see his plan for me, his hidden agenda. Every trait that we would hope to see in a PCP is entirely absent in Allison’s character. This character unnecessarily cost me time and money while he delayed my treatment and greatly disrupted my life. I can’t imagine how much damage this guy has done over the years. Don’t let this happen to you."
