"As a doctor of pharmacy, I can responsibly say: The level of this doctor is very average, or lower than that of a normal doctor. The mechanism of action of two commonly used rheumatoid drugs is unclear, and the side effects can be reversed. And because he is a doctor, he behaves very arrogantly and unreasonably. He has already asked him if he can help him write a test order because he does not want to wait for a specialist (it takes several months). His reply is: You have had symptoms for several months. So what if we wait a few months? I don't think this is something a normal doctor can say. I visited Dr. Xuan Zhang for an annual exam on May 1st, 2024. I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding Dr. Zhang's conduct during my appointment. Firstly, Dr. Zhang demonstrated a lack of basic medical knowledge. I am currently taking hydroxychloroquine for RA treatment. However, Dr. Zhang mistakenly identified this medication as methotrexate, a first-line drug, and incorrectly stated that it would affect my reproductive system . As confused a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical science and a clinical pharmacologist, I am certain that he these two drugs. Hydroxychloroquine is not an immunosuppressant. Secondly, Dr. Zhang did not respect his patients or consider their needs. He was very arrogant and rude during our interaction. I have had long-term diarrhea and requested him to order a test for fecal calprotectin, but he refused. When I explained my concern about the long wait time to see a specialist and my desire to start medication promptly, he dismissedively replied, "Since you have had symptoms for several months already, what's a few more months?" Such a response is unacceptable from a healthcare professional . I believe that Dr. Zhang's behavior and lack of professionalism warrant serious attention. Patients deserve respectful and knowledgeable care from their doctors. I hope that appropriate actions will be taken to address this issue."
