"When it comes to the medical support staff, they are fantastic. Buyer beware when it comes to billing. Office staff tells you one thing, billing tells you another and your insurance disagrees with everything they have told you. Do your homework before entering this program. Editing to reply to New Horizon. The insurance company gave you a workaround for billing, you would not accept, resulting in more out of pocket costs to me. I have since found a place that will bill the insurance correctly."
"My experience started out positive. Everybody was very nice and welcoming. However ,there was a big miss communication on copays. I was informed that I copee was gonna be fifteen dollars. I was going in every day for almost 2 months. I take responsibility that I didn't think about paying for my copy they didn't ask. Hi dad $15 I'll pay whenever. Well they hit me with a $498 bill. The copay went up to $50 and no one in for me about that. Each week I went in there and nobody said anything to me about it.. All they did was apologize.. That's pretty big mistake. I get they sent me a bill. And that's on me for not looking on at it. However they also have to take some responsibility and a patient that's coming in each week.. The informed me that my cope I was fifteen dollars when I first entered the door. I don't know.. I'm very sad about the whole thing. If you're gonna go there just make sure that you get your information about your copy up front And each week you go there make sure you know what it is. But the women are very nice."
"Be cautious. They take labs in the beginning. I told them I had just had blood work done so please check with my MD to not retake the same. They took $634 worth of blood work that my insurance denied leaving me with this huge bill. Lab says they billed with diagnosis codes that aren’t even covered. I have called the office manager and left many messages without even one call back. I have kidney disease that I told them about from the beginning. When I had problems in the second week, they discharged me saying they couldn’t handle someone with my comorbidities. So I was left with nothing but a huge lab bill that they won’t even call me about to help me work through. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GROUP."
"I was a number not a patient. This place was wonderful when it was smaller. I was very successful with the support of my team to lose 40 lbs. However, they got too big. Their goal became more about collecting their insurance money than ensuring that I received the support that I was going there to get. The clinic became a greedy money oriented business and the patients were no longer first priority. The program is supported by insurance and when I wanted to see my team that I had been with for over a year...the nurse practitioner, nutritionist and behaviorist---I was told that I would see whoever they placed me with. All I can say is that when I make an appointment with my other medical professionals.......that is who I want to see--that is who I do see unless the practice lets me know that I would need to see someone else. When I stood up to New Horizons clinic manager, I was reprimanded like I was a misbehaving child, and then lectured again by substitute NP (she said per the direction of management). I asked for someone from management to call me----that was 6 months ago! Yet to hear a word. Another point to support my criticism--any other medical professional takes your well being seriously. If you follow the program, you will lose weight. However, don't expect a dedicated team to support you in your efforts. You will need to see whoever is available-----not what I was looking for--but might be fine for others. I am looking for another alternative where I am treated like a patient not number. 9/13 Follow up....upon this review being posted, I did receive a call from the new office manager at New Horizons. She apologized for how I was treated and for the lack of phone call. She was very kind, apologetic and professional. Hopefully, under her realm, things have changed."
"Excellent place. If you are serious about getting healthy Nd losing weight at the sme time this is the place for you. Not a negative thing to say or feel. I feel great. Built some confidence and I am very pleased at my healthy lifestyle now. I couldn't have done it on my own. I've tried a lot but seemed to gain more back. I've been healthy weight for 2 years now. Thanks to who ever has invented this place"
