Led by our bi-vocational pastor, who brings a decade of ministry experience and a rich educational background from Andover Newton Theological Seminary and Bridgewater State University, we are committed to deepening our faith and applying the teachings of God’s Word to our daily lives. Our pastor, residing in New Bedford with his family and three lively Golden-Doodles, believes in the importance of a shared journey of faith, learning together and discovering God’s call for each of us.

At First Baptist, the Word of God is central to our lives as American Baptists. We hold the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the authority governing our lives, guiding us to live as God intended. Our focus is on nurturing our personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who we believe is our Lord and Savior, ensuring salvation and eternal fellowship with a loving and just God.
