Animal Control Services
Our Animal Control team addresses issues related to stray dogs, neighborhood nuisances, rabies concerns, and injured animals, responding to calls for injured animals regardless of species.
Historical Insight
The Peabody Police Department's roots trace back to the 1850s with part-time constables and "Night Watch" men. By 1872, official records recognized full-time officers, including Lewis Manning, James E. Blanchard, and Joseph W. Skinner, the first chief and "Keeper of the Lockup."
