About the Business
Welcome to South Street Woodlots
Located at 45 South Street, Newbury, Massachusetts, South Street Woodlots offers a serene escape into nature with its beautifully maintained parkland. Spanning 30 acres across four contiguous parcels of conserved land in West Newbury, this park features a mile-long trail that invites visitors to explore its natural beauty.
Constructed in 2013, the trail includes three sections of boardwalk, each between 100 and 140 feet long, providing an accessible journey through picturesque wetlands. As you wander through the forest, you'll encounter "The Cliff" and other striking bedrock outcrops, which are part of the historic Clinton-Newbury Fault.
For your convenience, we provide free maps to enhance your visit. We are currently working on a full-size PDF version of the South Street Woodlots map, so please check back soon for updates. If you enjoy your experience, consider making a donation to support the Essex County Trail Association (ECTA) in their efforts to maintain and improve these trails.
To visit, take exit 56 off Route 95 (North or South) and head west on South Street. You'll find a small parking area approximately 0.95 miles on the right.
Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, South Street Woodlots offers a tranquil retreat and a chance to connect with nature. We look forward to welcoming you to our park.

"A nice mile long trail with 3 sections of boardwalks. Great place to take the dogs and enjoy the wildlife. Small parking area on the side of road, never seen more than two cars at a time here."
