Reviews of Belle Isle Marsh Reservation
"MOSQUITO RAGE. BRING BUG NETS and COVER UP ENTIRELY if you go here during mosquito season, especially dawn and dusk. Was here 10 minutes and got over 20 bites on my arms despite long sleeves. Gave up and fled to my car. I used to go here regularly in 2012 and it wasn't this bad. Even our woods in rural areas (where I live and regularly hike now) don't compare with how bad the mosquitoes here are. Otherwise it's a pretty area, and really great for birding / photography if you have a lens much over 600mm (assuming full frame). Plenty of egrets. There's an osprey nest as well."
"How lucky are we to have this kind of lovely saltwater nature preserve in our backyard! Plenty of open space but the birdwatching is especially fantastic."
"Great place to walk around and see all times of birds and scenery. One of Boston and another of the Marsh from different viewpoints. If you are into airplanes this is another great place where you can watch them and grab some pretty good photos. They fly low enough you can make the names of each airline company that is out there. So grab a picnic and a camera and enjoy the sights and sounds"
"A lovely place to stroll. The salt-water marsh is completely different terrain than just a few miles away. It's a nice place to go for a walk and spot wildlife."
