Welcome to the City of Boston Public Facilities Department, located at 22 Drydock Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts 02210. Our department is dedicated to supporting other City of Boston departments in the planning, design, construction, and major renovations of City-owned buildings. We are committed to ensuring that these buildings are accessible, safe, efficient, and sustainable for all residents.

Our Bid Counter, now located at 2 Center Plaza, Suite 700, Boston, MA 02108, is open from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is available to the public for scheduled bid openings. Please note, beginning November 28, 2023, we will only accept bids at this location. For inquiries about current Invitations for Bids (IFBs) or Requests for Proposals (RFPs), please email bid.info@boston.gov. For all other questions, reach out to us at publicfacilities@boston.gov.

Our Operations and Construction Unit expertly manages capital construction projects from start to finish. Meanwhile, our Planning and Management Unit diligently tracks project schedules and budgets, overseeing annual Capital Planning, Master Planning processes, and our Management Information System.

We work collaboratively with City government colleagues and engage with community groups to determine the best locations and designs for our projects. Our dedication to excellence ensures that Boston’s public facilities meet the highest standards of safety and sustainability.
