"There was a theft of an electric scooter from inside my house and i was appalled at the level of laxness and apathy that this department had towards the crime. Despite them supposedly having footage of both the item and perpetrator on the scene, there has literally been no action taken and the detective on the case has been on leave since over a week. Meanwhile the criminal is chilling with my stolen vehicle, confidently committing more crimes knowing that this is the level of police response. Whereas, after repeated calls to follow up everyday, I am just fed with lines like 'have patience' and 'these things take time'. This kind of reactions from the authorities just fosters lower levels of faith in the police and worse yet, serves to embolden criminals by allowing them to get away without consequence. I have to highlight that this a dangerous and alarming precedent to be set by the police. It is an implicit green light for people to commit unlawful activities, knowing that this is the level of investigation that victims can hope to expect as help, when filling an official report to the police."
