About the Massachusetts State Police Association
Welcome to the Massachusetts State Police Association
Located at 11 Beacon Street, Boston, Massachusetts, the State Police Association of Massachusetts (SPAM) proudly serves as the exclusive bargaining agent for all members of the Uniformed Branch of the Department of State Police in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Established in 1968, our organization represents the dedicated Troopers and Sergeants who work tirelessly to uphold safety and justice across the state.
Our mission is to support our members by advocating for fair wages, reasonable working hours, and improved conditions that enhance productivity and performance. We are committed to addressing the challenges faced by our members in one of the most demanding careers in America—law enforcement. Whether it’s providing emergency relief funds, scholarships, or grants, SPAM is here to assist Troopers, their families, and the broader community.
Initiatives like “Chat With a Trooper” demonstrate our commitment to fostering positive relationships between the State Police and the communities they serve. We strive to promote camaraderie among our members and maintain goodwill with the citizens of Massachusetts. Through cooperative agreements with government agencies, we work to mitigate the hazards of police work and enhance public service.
Every day, Massachusetts State Troopers confront danger, whether during a routine traffic stop or a high-stakes manhunt. Their dedication and bravery are unmatched, and some have even made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We honor their memory and are committed to supporting those who continue to protect us.
Visit our website to learn more about our initiatives, support programs, and how you can connect with us. Together, we can ensure a safer and more supportive environment for our Troopers and the communities they serve.

Reviews of Massachusetts State Police Association
"The statement using former trooper proctor’s kids as human shields was shameless, disgusting & infuriating. No person has created more obstacles to securing justice for Officer O’Keefe than former trooper proctor. Never think American LE can’t lower the bar further! Undoubtedly, another shameless agency is waiting to scoop him up, lest one of the boys ever have to face consequences or accountability for being terrible at their job. proctor is a product of our broken system of LE."
"Unreal that the union is supporting such a corrupt and unethical cop like “trooper” Proctor. Their statement should have read “we are disappointed in our member who acted with such distain for law enforcement ethics that it has brought shame to the rest of our membership”."
"Liars and THIEVES! What a pity that the supposed law keepers are the law breakers!"
"Very responsive. Working to help the communities they serve."
