"STUDENTS !!! Save yourself a 2-hour wait and go directly to the Registry of Motor Vehicles for your "denial letter". Yes, you can get a denial letter at the Social Security office. Then go to the RMV and wait another 2 hours to do the same thing."
"Applied for my social security number over a month ago now for my J1 visa because without it, I can't be paid. My girlfriend went on the same day as me and she received her's a couple of days ago. When I rang them today, they said that my application is 'pending' so I might be waiting for another 3/4 weeks which is a joke seeing as it was an issue on their end... I'm told that I may have to come back in again too to make matters worse."

"There's a line to get in through the security and go through the metal detector before you get seated. The security guards help you get a ticket. There is a wait if you go later in the day or even if you have an appointment scheduled online. But once you get to the window, they are very quick. My ticket number got skipped, but I was given a new ticket right away to make up for the mistake. It was an online error showing window kdos without any window number."
