About the Business
Welcome to Glennie Woodlot and Town Farm Forest Trail, a hidden gem nestled at 625-659 Dale Street in North Andover, Massachusetts. This quaint 9.25-acre park offers a serene escape into the past, reminiscent of a time when North Andover was a quaint rural farming community. As the last remaining piece of the historic Glennie Dairy, the woodlot stands as a testament to the area's rich heritage, now preserved alongside the permanently-protected Smolak Farm.
The Glennie Woodlot is a beautiful example of a classic Northeastern Massachusetts forest, featuring mature oaks, maples, and white pines. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of a 23-nest heron rookery located in the neighboring wetlands. The forest's existing woods road offers a well-maintained trail leading to the Town Farm Conservation Area, enhancing public access to its northern sections.
This conservation project holds significant importance, providing both ecological and recreational benefits. Thanks to the generous support of local donors and the residents of North Andover, who allocated Community Preservation Act funds toward the $250,000 purchase price, Glennie Woodlot is now protected for future generations. Owned by the Town of North Andover, the land is dedicated to conservation and passive recreational activities.
Visitors can enter Glennie Woodlot from Dale Street, near the intersection with Ironwood Road. For those coming from Boxford, the entrance is on the right, and for those coming from North Andover, it is on the left. Greenbelt is currently developing a modest parking area to accommodate guests.
We invite you to step back in time and explore the natural beauty and historical significance of Glennie Woodlot and Town Farm Forest Trail. We extend our gratitude to the talented photographers whose work is featured on our website: Jerry Monkman, Dorothy Monnelly, Adrian Scholes, David Alden St. Pierre, and Neil Ungerleider.

Reviews
"We did 1.75 miles in 47 minutes. A nice meandering trail through the forest. No bugs at all. We saw several chipmunks. Lots of downed trees blocking the trail and boardwalk. We were able to pass. We did see a beaver dam. The trails are marked but could be much better. The parking lot is small."
