"Beautiful church to visit. I’ve attended the 7:30am mass yesterday."
"With construction beginning in 1915 and a dedication on Easter Sunday of 1923, Saint Paul’s Catholic Parish stands out from other buildings in the area because of its Romanesque red brick style, round front window, and tall bell tower. The design was inspired by the 12th century Basilica of San Zeno in Verona, Italy built of white tufa stone and painted white brick, and incidentally the church featured in Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet"."
"If you are in the area and the doors are open it is a beautiful building to walk into. We were visiting Harvard on a Sunday and saw the open doors to this church. I walked through it and enjoyed it."
"We attended at the Harvard Alumni reunion. The holy spirit is in this church. Within walking distance of the Harvard campus, St. Paul's was established in 1875. The current Romanesque style church began construction in 1915. The interior is breathtaking with many unique decorations such as a prominent depiction of the ascension, remarkable frescos, and a statue of the prophet Isaiah. A colorful statue of Mary can be found to the right of the altar. The pastor is welcoming, the choir is excellent, and the congregation is warm. Harvard students and alumni can find rest here."
"Met McGowan who works at the church. While I took pictures from my camera around beautiful Harvard Campus and Cambridge. She asked where I came from. I said North Carolina. She said she is from Chapel Hills. I said from Raleigh. Small World. She invited me inside of the church. It was such a massive and gorgeous church. I told her I am 8x great grandnephew of Sir George Downing who studied theology at Harvard University.Class of 1642. We are the Downing/ Winthrop family of Boston and Salem during the 17th Century. Cheers"
