John F. Kennedy Birthplace Museum
Welcome to the John F. Kennedy Birthplace, a charming and historical museum located at 83 Beals Street, Brookline, Massachusetts. Step back in time and explore the early life of the 35th President of the United States, in the very home where his journey began. Although JFK's parents never imagined their second son would grow up to lead the nation, it was here that he learned the values that would inspire his dedication to public service.
Meticulously recreated by his mother, Rose Kennedy, the birthplace offers a unique glimpse into the formative years of one of America’s most beloved leaders. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Kennedy family's rich history and the principles that shaped JFK's life and legacy.
Our museum offers a variety of engaging experiences for all ages. Take a Virtual Audio Tour of 83 Beals Street and discover the story of Young Jack Kennedy through our newest kid's tour. For those interested in the deeper roots of the Kennedy and Fitzgerald families, join our special ranger-guided walking tour through Boston's North End.
We also offer free, fun, and educational virtual activities for youth, designed to inspire and inform. Dive into our collection of staff-created articles exploring the site, the Kennedy family, and the influential Kennedy women.
Whether you're a history enthusiast or looking for an educational family outing, the John F. Kennedy Birthplace Museum provides a memorable experience that honors the legacy of a remarkable American leader.

"Rangers who are doing free tours are super nice. Thank you so much for taking care of this place!"
"Really nice and an interesting tour. Rose Kennedy did a great job with restoration after buying it back in about 1920. Worth a visit if there's an interest in history."
"On Beals street in Brookline there’s an unassuming house that was home to the young Kennedy children including JFK & RFK. The entrance is in the back- I believe it’s free. There’s a quick tour where you’ll see the bedrooms, living room with a “little table” for the kids, etc. Just a short walk from Coolidge Corner, there’s a sign that marks Beals street and shows the way. Occasionally on the anniversary of their deaths someone might leave flowers on the porch. It’s a quick stop, but only so many people can go in a once so you might end up waiting a 1/2 hour or so for your your if for some reason it’s busy"
"Lovely to be here, roots from ireland however still non the wiser who they became so wealthy. From birth place in Boston to the a cruel ending in Dallas"
"It’s a neat place to go. Very cool if you enjoy JFK obviously. The guided ranger tour is something I missed, but the audio tour features Rose Kennedy as the speaker. There is a short film and nice rangers too. Careful if you are tall because there are a lot of low doorways!"
