"Harvard-Epworth Church looms large with its distinctive bell tower across the street from Cambridge Common. This congregation began in 1792 as the first Methodist society in the city. In 1893, Amos Porter Cutting of Worcester, MA constructed the Richardson Romanesque style building with its 110-foot tower out of red granite and sandstone. The current iteration of the congregation came in 1941 after a merger between the Harvard Street and Epworth Street congregations."
"Even though I didn't recognize any of the music, I was very amazed by both the enthusiastic & knowledgeable female emcee as she mentioned to our fellow audience members & myself which pieces we were playing like our own intimate Stomps-style concert w/ some lovely singing too, respectively. Beth Budner, Auburndale, MA!"
"This Church is not friendly towards family with children. For Christmas eve service, their ramp for the stroller was completely closed. I had to lift up the stroller with a 30 pounds toddler in it. It was all snow and ice so I could not let my toddler walk up either. There were almost no direction for a holiday like Christmas. The pastor's speech during the service was both long and not passionate and not really engaging with the audience (also not seem to be prepared and kind of random). Most importantly, it lacks a theme. I actually did not want to go first, but was forced by a family member to go after hearing how good this one was. But apparently it was not."
"This is a wonderful and vibrant church! I have the pleasure of working with the children and youth on Sunday mornings, but the schedule is set so I am also able to participate in worship. Everyone is so warm and welcome my. I would not want to be in worship and service anywhere else!"
"Wonderful church with exceptional people. Pastor Taylor is a great preacher and extremely committed to the community. Open and Affirming which means the church welcomes LGBTQ. The congregation is a great mix of long time members, families and students."
