Located at 76 Brooks Street, Medford, Massachusetts, the Amelia Earhart House stands as a tribute to one of the most iconic figures in aviation history. This historic residence was home to Amelia Earhart from 1924 until her groundbreaking achievements in aviation history made her an international sensation.

In front of the house, a commemorative plaque, encased in stone, honors Earhart's legacy. It reads: "The famed aviator lived here from 1924 until she became the first woman to cross the Atlantic by airplane on June 18, 1928. She then became the second person and first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic on May 21, 1932. Earhart was a mentor to young women and an advocate for women’s rights. She disappeared on July 2, 1937 while attempting a round-the-world flight." This plaque was dedicated by the Medford Historical Society & Museum on July 24, 2024, replacing an earlier plaque installed by the Medford Cooperative Bank and the Medford Historical Society.

During her time in Medford, Amelia lived with her mother, Amy Otis Earhart, and her sister, Muriel Earhart Morrissey, who was a dedicated English teacher in the local school system for 40 years and an active participant in civic organizations, including the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Medford Historical Society.
