"Smaller than expected"
"Now, I've visited many a state park in my time, but I can honestly say that nothing, and I mean NOTHING, compares to the monumental experience I had at the hands of a seemingly inconspicuous stone landmarker at this park. The moment I laid eyes on this chunk of earthly delight, I was overcome with a sense of awe that can only be rivaled by watching a sloth win a marathon. Its robust roundness, its profound poise, its audacious aura, all contribute to an absolutely staggering sight! This stone, my friends, is not just a stone. It's a symbol of stoic stability in a chaotic world. Dare I say it, it's the eighth wonder of the world. A testament to all things reliable and steadfast. Did it have a majestic waterfall cascading behind it? No. Was it surrounded by a rainbow of wildflowers? Nope. Did it hum a mystical tune only decipherable by the woodland creatures? Not in the slightest. But, dear reader, it didn't need any of these trivialities. Its sheer existence in the park was more than enough. I found myself inexplicably drawn to its geological grandeur. I even found myself having a deep, philosophical conversation with it. Did it respond? Of course not, it's a stone. But it listened. Oh boy, it listened like no one ever has. The stone's subtle shade of grey, flecked with hints of a sunset from a time long forgotten, was truly a sight to behold. It stood there, sturdy and unyielding, a gentle giant among the leafy green, reminding us of the unbroken bond between nature and time. Its mineral composition? A complex blend that would make any geologist weep with joy. In the grand scheme of things, this stone may not have any historical or scientific significance, but let me tell you, it is the true hero of this park. A silent guardian. A stoic sentinel. A rock amongst pebbles. So, fellow adventurers, if you're in search of a riveting encounter that will leave you questioning your very existence, look no further than this remarkable landmark. As far as stones go, it's truly a hard act to follow. Remember, "It's not just a boulder, it's a rock!" - some sponge who lives under the sea."
"A rough granite marker, not really an obelisk because it doesn't have the pointed cap. It has a letter engraved on each of its four sides: M, W, S, and I. Being near the boundary of the towns of Medford, Winchester, and Stoneham, it's clear what three of those letters stand for, but I'm unclear on the fourth. There are a lot of markers like this in the Boston area and I'd love to know when this one was placed here in the Middlesex Fells. It's possibly been here a couple hundred years, and the lettering certainly looks like that on other stone markers from as far back as the eighteenth century. Also, with the old granite quarries in the Fells, it may be made from local stone."
"Not a very remarkable landmark. It’s about 4 feet tall and if it wasn’t mentioned on Google maps as interesting it would probably be just another stone."
"It's a stone in a park, why would you leave a bad review?"
