"I take strong exception to the review posted by Jessica Lynn regarding Crawford’s Children and Youth Minister Jessica Rubenstein. This negative description presents an inaccurate view of Ms. Rubenstein and her work with Trans youth. Her supposed “words” have likely been taken out of context and cobbled together to depict an image that is diametrically opposed to her experience and work with all youth—straight and LGBTQ. The Youth Group at Crawford provides a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment in which young people can explore ideas and learn how to communicate with others effectively and respectfully. I have been involved with this youth group for a number of years and can personally attest to Ms. Rubenstein’s compassion and dedication to the welfare of every member of the group. The inaccuracy of this post forces me to ask if its author was attempting to discourage youths from seeking support. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and to the right to express views. The biggest problem with social media today is the growth of inaccurate, often false announcements and stories, made by faceless, un-sourced authors, whose claims that the information presented is for “public interest and good” are often based on faulty data or even outright deceit. My advice is, if you want to discover whether something is true and right for you, you must see and experience it for yourself. Remember, “Believe what you like, but don’t believe everything you read without questioning it.” [Quote: Pauline Baynes, 1922-2008]"
