About Us

Welcome to Billings Field, a vibrant and essential part of Boston's expansive park system. Located at 369 Lagrange Street in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, this local gem is one of the many parks that contribute to the city's 2,300 acres of beautifully maintained green spaces. Our mission at Billings Field, and throughout Boston, is to provide clean, green, safe, and accessible open spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Managed by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, Billings Field is part of a network that includes 217 city parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and much more. Whether you're looking to enjoy a leisurely day outdoors, partake in athletic activities, or explore Boston's rich history, our parks offer something for everyone.
This summer, don't miss out on our free family-friendly movies shown in neighborhood parks, as well as the lively Tito Puente Latin Music Series concerts in July and August. For beer enthusiasts, the Alianza traveling beer garden, a collaboration with Roundhead Brewing Company and Fresh Food Generation, is a must-visit.
We are proud to be part of the Emerald Necklace, a historic 1,100-acre chain of nine parks connected by picturesque parkways and waterways. In addition to our parks, we also manage three active cemeteries, 16 historic burying grounds, and care for over 35,000 street trees across the city.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our Tree Removal and Parks and Recreation Commission hearings are currently held online. For those interested in removing a healthy tree, please note that a public hearing is required.
Join us at Billings Field and explore the beauty and community spirit that Boston's parks have to offer. For more information on events and activities, please visit the Boston Parks and Recreation Department's website. We look forward to welcoming you!

"The park looked beautiful. Can't believe it is going to be made better. Adding street hockey rink is a great idea."
"We love Billings field! My son has been going for years. They have 2 parks one for big kids and one for toddlers. Very clean and great neighbors!"
"Great playground, love that there are 2 areas, one for little guys. But the little guy part is nicely laid out and not too much of a "baby" playground for my 2 going on 20 year olds!"
"The kids love everything about coming to this park. There are two large climbing structures for different age groups, and they are always busy! The adults who frequent Billings with their kids are always very friendly and welcoming too. We go at least once a week. Great spot!"
"I take my 2 year old daughter to the playground a couple times a week. It has 2 sides one for smaller kids one for bigger kids. Always clean. The neighborhood kids and parents are awesome. I feel safe there at night it's always lit up with big field lights."
