"System only favors the custodial parent. They could care less and do way less for the non custodial parent. I have had zoom calls and emailed multiply times. Sent in a form for reduction with no satisfaction. Theyn they are only open 10 hours a week for walk ins!! Talk about a scam. My daughter is 24 graduated college and I’m still paying for 2 kids where is the Justice for the people who do the right things!! I need a court date someone help!! Nope"
"you either get no answer when calling or no one can give you answers pertaining to your case. All you get is a run around...no help at all. I had to go through my state reps office to even get a call back then the guy was rude and basically told me to stop wasting my time pursuing the matter and never informed me what was going on. Contact the state reps office again, informed them what had happened and requested someone else. Needless to say the capias warrant issued has been escalated to a sunset clause but that doesn't do any good if the sheriff doesn't pursue the matter and he is limited on what he can do. If the party doesn't want to go he leaves. What kind of justice is that? I have been told different dates so far to expect to be in court, nothing. Yet I have to remain on call with my employer if/when they bring him to court. Poorly run system all around. The Capias Warrant is a useless piece of paper with no power and the Sheriff's know it. This whole system is a waste of time except for those parents who take the responsibility and pay for those who don't, they get off scott free with no worries. ***updated post 7/2019*** System is really flawed and a waste of time and tax payers money. 3/2019 had yet another capias warrant issued for the non-custodial parent, had to have another sunset clause issued only to be told it is up to the sheriff if they want to go by it. Really???!!! it's a court order!!! I Still need to go through the state reps office to get anyone to call me back to update me. This whole time I thought the warrant was being acted on, only to find out that the warrant wasn't being acted on until 7/30/19.....4 months later!!! I never received a call so they probably never made any attempt to make the arrest. My advice to any parent wanting to work with DOR.... I hate to say it but unless the other parent is willing to be 100% involved and do what they are suppose to, I don't recommend using the services of DOR. Until there is significant change with the system, custodial parents will forever get the run around. Sad but true!"
"These people don't know anything about the child support laws of Massachusetts. This place is nothing more than a call center, they can't even answer basic questions about the laws. Every question I asked was answered with they would have to email the lawyers. Before I called, I had to send two emails to even get a response. People call here thinking they are talking to employees who know about the laws and get their basic questions answered. I was told to call back two different times, given two completely different answers by different people. The last time I called I encountered the most miserable condescending person ever named "Jay." I really hope his calls are monitored he is extremely rude and not very helpful. I'm not sure why the DOR would employ someone like this, he wouldn't let me ask any questions and just talked over me. This "Jay" acted like I called at the end of the day at 4:30, I called before 3:00pm. Seems like all the terrible reviews about this place are right."
"I am not receiving any assistance from my case manager named Kim. She does not return any of my calls and I only check in a few months at a time. I am owed in excess of $32,000 in unpaid child support with no assistance or communication about my case. Apparently if you would like to avoid paying your child support move to California!"
"Former spouse has been missing for years, owes 56K + 22K in interest and somehow walked out of court without paying a penny just last September. When I recently called, I was told my case was transferred to an interstate unit after 17 years. No one seems to want to acknowledge me or my case and I have no clue who to call since my worker clearly failed to see it through. Two months of this craziness and I can't even proceed with filing a contempt on my case due to this sudden change that totally messed up my 17 year old case. I have gone to the governor of Massachusetts and several other state officials with this since no one is telling me anything and now suddenly they can't speak to me either. Yet, I have no clue who CAN speak to me and take action. This is a true travesty of justice."
