Rowell Park,

"Great park named after my great uncle Frank W. Rowell who was a first lieutenant in the US 6th Cavalry who served in the Mexican Expedition and War World One. He was shot in the stomach in France, but returned to his unit to continue fighting. He made it back to America in 1919, when the Spanish Influenza was raging, and he died of his wounds within days of returning to Lawrence unfortunately."

"The idea is there, but it needs infrastructure improvements, more cleanliness, benches, maybe a playground for the kids, since it is well-located right in the middle of two neighborhoods. There's nothing to do there aside from seating, looking at the streets and reading a book by the trees."
