"During the year the statue is well maintained. I love how people care. Bring sneakers and other things to show respect and unforgettable example of Johnny Kelly who ran 61 Boston Marathons! Great place to watch Boston Marathon. Just near mile 19. Has water stations and food trucks on the day of marathon."
"This statue is strong and made to withstand the test of time, just like Johnny Kelley. There's not much around here but it's cool to see a young JK holding hands with an older JK. From here there is a nice walk through the gardens by city hall. And if you go a bit past city hall, the cemetery is a great place to walk as it is an arboretum."
"Statue and surrounding area are well cared for. It is a nice place to watch the marathon and cheer. There is a water station right before so lot of tossed away cups end up by your feet. Watch out for splashes!"
"It's an icon! Seems silly that it needs a review. If you're a runner, you'll be happy to see it. Many bring sneakers or other trinkets in homage."
"A legend and inspiration for runners. This memorial is well respected by the community and often features adornments of Boston Marathon Medal or BAA Jackets."
