"Dislike the new type 9 cars. The older type 7s are a much better ride. You can sit facing forward or backwards instead of having your neck snapped sideways everytime the car starts or stops. And why do the announcements on the type 9s have to be so blaringly loud?"
"I really like this station for many reasons, the historic train station building is a diner, the station has ADA compatible platforms that are raised to accommodate low floor trolleys and it has bike racks near the station too. It can be busy from time to time but generally just right. The historic station is just getting overhauled and it looks great without that wear and tear prior to it."
"From Newton it is easier to access downtown Boston. The Green Line is faster than the commuter rail to South Station."
"I would argue that this station is actually a little off center of Newton Centre hah. If you're driving here you need to take this awkward one way turn down Union Street. I have had the misfortune of being forced to get off here abruptly from the abridged/express service to Riverside for the MBTA's frequent schedule adjustments. Why couldn't it just be one more stop at Newton Highlands so I could walk the remainder? Unlike some of the other above ground stops this one does not have an indoor Charlie Card kiosk where you can take shelter from the elements. Also as it is within the center of town there are no dedicated parking spots for this location. If you're lucky in the morning during rush hour times you might find a seat, but more likely than not they're all taken. Personally I would prefer to drive to this area as there's a metered parking lot rather than take the T."
"I've always enjoyed this station the most on the MBTA lines. I've tried many others but found this to be the closest to my house, which seems to have a high correlation to my enjoyment of the myriad of stations. We often come here for family days out. Second only to Disneyland."
