Reviews of Beaver Brook Reservation
"Love this dog park, but had an issue with a specific dog there multiple times. Be careful. I took my 4 month old dog there to socialize. Everything was going great! Then one owner came up to me and said “the dogs here are fine, but be careful of that dog over there. It pins dogs down, especially puppies. We try to tell them to leash the dog, but the babysitter doesn’t speak English”. Sure enough, a few minutes later, this dog runs from across the field and pins my dog. I figured it was a one-off instance and went several times after that with no issues. Another time, I was walking my dog and saw this dog across the park, so I made sure my dog was leashed to hopefully deter this dog from seeing my dog as a threat. This dog comes running across the park again and growling and snarling and tries to pin my dog on the leash. My dog has his tail tucked and is yelping but I’m terrified of this dog and don’t know what to do. The owner seas trying to call the dog back and I said this is the second time it’s happened. She told me I was a liar because her dog would never do that. It took me months before I went back there again, but I eventually did and had no issues. If I saw this dog, I would leave the park. One day, my dog was playing with other puppies in a little circle. No problems. Then this dog comes out of the bushes and tries to pin my dog. The owners I was with are horrified trying to tell this guy to control his dog. He starts yelling profanities saying my dog started it. Everyone in the circle I was in is like “we were all standing here and that just didn’t happen. Your dog came charging for no reason”. Some people at the dog park say that this particular dog is a delight and others say they have had the same issues as me. I guess it’s a coin flip. But I know for a fact I’m not the only one this has happened to considering I was warned by other owners about this dog. Other than this dog, the dogs at the park have all been very friendly and it’s an awesome space for dogs to run and socialize!"
