"The people who attend there are very friendly and familiar."
"Pine Village Newton Highlands daycare / preschool is located here, and they're fabulous. (Also a dance school in the auditorium.) It's a Spanish immersion preschool with incredible emotional training for the kids, to help them deal with all the big feelings that kids have in a positive way. My kid has gone here for several years, from toddler on, and has blossomed. The teachers are engaged, loving, and well trained in the social emotional values of the school. My child did not speak Spanish when he started, and after several months understood everything said to him, and is now speaking in Spanish, with a great accent. Talk about setting a kid up for success in America - Spanish is so important for business and life. His teacher understands the cycle of kids and how they develop, and gives good feedback about him and his social / skill development. The director Silvia Guerrero is great - positive, thoughtful, full of joy, fully bilingual - and every time I've talked with her about my kid's development, she's had the kind of insight that reflects time spent really observing and interacting and analyzing, even though she's the director and not his teacher. Between them, I feel like there is a lot of time and attention and professional knowledge that is benefiting my child. (Good thing, I'm not a child development professional like them - I'll take all the expertise I can get!) There is a thoughtful curriculum, and lots of enrichment opportunities. Many toys, imaginative play stations, and playgrounds appropriate for different ages (with a big local playground a block away). They do an art or science project most days, and have people come in to talk to the kids - firefighters, dentist, yoga instructor, etc. They really are thinking about how to help kids develop as well rounded individuals, and I really appreciate that. We previously went to a different Pine Village, while this place was being set up, and had a similarly good experience. They have a really solid organization with positive values, and we're very lucky to have found Pine Village."

"Full Disclosure - I work at NHCC as a paid singer so there's an implied bias there. The Church is a steady, happy place with about 40% of the congregation comprised of families with small (K-12) children. The Pastor, Ken Bailey, is a wonderfully smart and engaging leader who brings interesting, insightful commentary of the modern world and the ancient faith. As someone who is not personally a super spiritual christian, I really appreciate how intelligent Ken is during his sermons. Often I appreciate it from an intellectual perspective which in turn draws out meaningful conversations from myself and the congregation. A healthy and progressive church is a really nice thing to find and participate in. You can definitely find that here."
