Reviews
"This place sucks. Like seriously sucks. Tons of off leash yap yap breed dogs with no socialization skills. But that pales in comparison to the state of the underbrush on the wooded areas. It’s pretty clear that the state doesn’t give a rats behind about it. There’s an insane amount of invasive and nuisance plant species in here. Full out groves of Japanese knotweed, garlic mustard, common buckthorn, more trees being choked out by Virginia creeper than I could count. The absolute worst part about hiking here is it has more poison ivy than I’ve ever seen in a single location in my life. And I’ve hiked a ton of different trails across multiple states. Have your Tecnu Extreme at the ready when you get home. It makes me mad that this is a DCR property and they don’t even take care of it. Where are our tax dollars going if they can’t even maintain their properties?"
"Only explored a little bit as most trails were rivers of ice. I can imagine in the warmer months it getting rather buggy. Still great to have some larger green space close to the city."
"Multiple access points to this trail network from Lexington, Waltham, and Belmont. Did an easy 2.5 mile hike including the water tower trail. If the trails were marked better this would be a 5-star review. Kid- and pet-friendly. We parked at Met State and the dog park."
"Has a very nice lighted softball field. Plenty of parking. Has a playground, Rock Meadow playground, and has walking track around the field. Has a Port a potty for bathroom. There are some nature trails off of the field. Food and Dunkin's close by."
"Sprawling suburban park, not very maintained, with a spooky sort of feel - not a place to be alone at night. The woods are very wild, and the air is thick with mosquitoes, but the trails are in good condition."
