"Hi all! I'm a Life Scout from Troop 73 Andover, and I enjoy this trail down to the riverfront! However, like many others, I find that it is frequently muddy after rainy days. To make the trail easier and safer to access, I plan to build a boardwalk along the muddy sections of this trail for my Eagle Project starting in Spring of 2024, among other improvements to the trail. If you would like to support this project to fund materials and improve this trail for the community and yourself, consider donating here! https://gofund.me/7cb4be00"
"Overgrown during summer. I have trouble calling it a trailhead, too... Other entrances may be better for this seemingly beautiful river walk."
"I hiked down to see the underside of I-93. It was what I thought it was. A good amount of graffiti and noisy. The combination of the motor noise and the metal supports flexing was jarring. I parked at the far end of the hotel parking lot. There is a sign at the trail start. I walked down the path and took a left to the bridge. I think it’s a lot nicer if you take a right instead. It’s a good way to waste a 1/2 hour at lunch. Especially if you work nearby and get bored aroun noon."
"Beautiful nature trail along the river. Pretty bridges crossover streams with beautiful views. It is best to avoid the interstate to optimize the nature effect."
"Very nice wooded trail. The main trail runs along the Merrimack River, with trails connecting along the way. There is parking at the far end of the hotel parking lot. The trail itself is mostly flat with some muddy areas. There are a few bridges, some in better shape than others. Part of the trail has a gate to section off the trail by the vocational high school."
