"booked wisdom teeth extraction with them off a friends recommendation; wish I didnt. He prides himself on “having you in and out in 20 minutes” as if its a pizza shop.. its oral surgery.. take your time. Followed all post op directions and 2 1/2 weeks later I still have awful jaw/gum pain in one of my extraction sites.. called their office with my concerns and was dismissed of my symptoms without even asking me to come in to take a look at my mouth and told to take ibuprofen around the clock as if thats good for your stomach lining!! Either way, I wouldnt recommend them for anyone with impacted molars or in general."

"Doctor and assistants were dismissive of my concerns as a patient. It’s really a simple thing to be able to ease a patients anxiety about something, they failed to do that. It’s funny how everyone complains about the front desk lady, but every time I spoke with her she was very polite. Maybe it’s a new staff member. I called three days after my molar extraction to ask what to do about a dry socket (I’ve had one before and I know what it feels like, and I knew I had one coming on). Assistant on the phone told me it was highly unlikely only three days post op, and suggested clove oil. Awesome, used the clove oil, suffered all weekend as it’s only a temporary fix, continued with Motrin and Tylenol.Tuesday comes, still in terrible pain, now I’m having chest pains. Go to the ER, was told chest pains were a side effect of ibuprofen overuse, Dr there said yup definitely a dry socket. Scheduled a follow up with Dr. Petito just to make sure everything looked good and was healing properly, because at this point it’s been over a week and I’m still in SO. Much. Pain. They didn’t even want to see me because Dr. Petito “doesn’t normally do follow ups” but they took me. I go in, explain the entire situation to the assistant. She leaves the room leaving the door wide open, I hear her whispering, I’m assuming relaying everything to the Dr. The doctor audibly gasps “oh my god” in a rolling of the eyes tone. It took everything in me in that moment not to get up and leave. Disgusting behavior in my opinion. I paid almost 700 dollars out of pocket for this procedure and dealt with almost 2 weeks now worth of terrible pain, the least you could do is have a tiny bit of decency and compassion. He comes in the room annoyed, kind of makes fun of me for going to the ER instead of calling him (I did call and was dismissed of, and I’m sorry, I didn’t know a dentist could take care of chest pain). He BARELY looked inside of my mouth and goes yeah everything looks great. Also told me I was passed the point of a dry socket. Cool. Wonderful. I understand there’s not much you can do for a dry socket, but I know what the pain feels like. And just because I wasn’t screaming crying doesn’t mean I wasn’t in HORRIBLE pain. Honestly, just don’t come here. I fully regret it! Again, I UNDERSTAND there’s nothing that can be done for a dry socket. But it’s the way I was talked to and treated. When you have a patient just wanting to make sure there’s no infection or any issues, there should be no problem!!!"

"Dr. Petito is great in that he clearly explains everything he's doing from start to finish. He also checks in with you while he's doing the procedure to ask how you're doing. He extracted a broken tooth for me and everything went exactly as he described it would and was a good experience."

"I got 6 teeth pulled yesterday on 8/23 and let me tell you all, any worries you have going into this…Dr. Petito and staff will reduce all of them. They were all so sweet and calm which helped me relax as we got started and before I knew it I opened my eyes and the teeth were out. It has not even been a full 24 hours post op and I feel absolutely NO PAIN, soreness, or crazy swelling. I haven’t even needed to touch my painkillers, which is something I was really worried about in the beginning. The staff overall from the front desk to Dr. Petito himself are just amazing and very professional. If you need an oral surgeon in RI, Dr. Petito and his team are THE TEAM to go to."

"Dr Petito is an excellent doctor, however Cheryl at the front desk leaves little to be desired. She is condescending, cryptic, and rude. I received an unexpected bill for pathology 2 months after my procedure after she specifically told me that my medical insurance is not accepted by the office. I paid what I thought was in full the day of my procedure as she told me my payment was for the BIOPSY. I was never told that anything was being submitted to my insurance. My understanding from her was that the pathology was included in my payment. When I called to inquire, she was just as condescending. I went to doctor Petito because I have had procedures with him previously and never had any complications. I will rethink next time definitely not because of the doctor or his assistants, because of the manor in which the front desk is handled."
